 The Long Forgotten Easy Chair  The Easy Chair like so many other items of its times is a thing of the past and it seen only in a few homes where it finds space mostly as an Antique Possession. Many in the current Millennium might not have even heard or  seen them .  In our times it occupied the prime of place in the verandah of the house , where the young or the old would would relax with THE HINDU or HOT COFFEE for company . Sunday Siesta after a heavy lunch with the breeze as it swishes past you from the palm trees was always a heavenly feel. Bungalow no 281 or 620 where I grew up in Kharagpur had trees all around our Compound.  Smaller Houses are  now the preferred choice . Space being at a premium in the Apartment  Complexes the Easy Chair has had to make way for the 3 Seater Sofa or a 3+2 Set . My Colleagues from Madura Coats Might remember these dainty chairs with their distinctly Continental Touch   in  the Staff Canteen . There were at least half a dozen such chairs in the spa

    A DEFINITE MILESTONE       MY FIVE HUNDREDTH POST  What Started off as an off hand leisurely activity of writing about my First Visit to Canada in Dec 2018 and which gradually became a passion has now seen me with my 500th post today . My Blog Posts have covered a wide  variety of topics from Travel , Sports , Music , First Hand Experiences , Places , Films and Current Affairs.  There have been over  25000 plus , yes , you read it right  , Twenty Five Thousand Plus visits to my post from Across the Globe and 500 odd comments which included the  one from no less a Person than the Respected Former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Sir .  THE DAY WE WON THE CRICKET      WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP                            There are some Days &  Incidents which stay firmly etched in memory . One such day  was and is the 25 th of  June  1983 . Kapil s Devils after a stupendous and unbelievable run in the Round Robin League were in the Finals of  The World Cup Cricket  and were facing  the Mighty West Indians for the coveted WORLD CUP TROPHY . The Indians were clearly the Pre Match Minnows . The West Indies had Vivian Richards and Clive Lloyd at the top to name just two of the greatest batsmen ever to have played the game and the Tearaway Speedmerchants  Andy Roberts , Michael Holding , Joel.Garner and Malcom Marshall in its ranks . Each delivery from these foursome was no less potent than a bullet fired from a very close range . The Helmet and other safety accessories were just beginning to find their way .          FATHER'S DAY 2022  Being a Visitor here in Canada  , this concept of Father's Day Celebrations had an Unique Feel . Schools go out of the way to promote this concept among the School Going Children to be creative and Express their thoughts and Feelings towards their Father .   OUR OWN PITRU DEIVO BHAVA  We sadly miss both  the content and the Language . My Grandson Adhvay s thoughts on His Father and the Rap Song he presented Yesterday . This same practice was followed some 3000 Kms away at Regina where my Grandson Arya had some nice words to say about his father Kamesh with a drawn picture . REALLY GOOD 

CYBER CRIME / ON THE PROWL                                                                There have been innumerable posts in the Social Media and the Visual Media on the various methods employed to clean you up  all your savings from  your Bank Accounts .  The easiest way for the hacker is to get to know your OTP NUMBER during any transaction  Yesterday around 10 in the morning there was a call on my Landline . The person went on to inform me that he was the Bank Manager of the Bank where I had my Account and that my KYC OR KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER form needs to be updated as otherwise my ATM CARD would be blocked and I would not be able to make further use of the same .   FOUR  rather perplexing thoughts came to my mind . 1 ) The warnings in the Social and Visual Media . 2) My Landline number which I myself have a hard time remembering was  being used only to support my Internet Connection and I clearly remember never having mentioned it at any other place or forum . 3 )  The Branch Manag

 TOO MANY CROOKS SPOIL THE                          BROTH  BCCI , SELECTION COMMITTEE , SAURAV GANGULY , RAHUL DRAVID AND THE THINK TANK OBVIOUSLY HAVE A PROBLEM OF PLENTY ON THEIR HANDS . Just consider the following names : VIRAT KOHLI ROHIT SHARMA K L RAHUL SHIKAR DHAWAN RISHAB PANT HARDIK PANDYA BHUVANESHWAR KUMAR JASPRIT BHUMRAH SHREYAS IYER  All 9 of them have led Team India  or are going to lead them in the very near future which includes the Ireland Tour . All 9 of them could be the part of TEAM INDIA in any format .  I pity the Chosen Captain of this set up . His hands and mind would be FULL managing this bunch both on and off the field . Add the other heavyweights like Ravichandran Ashwin , Ravindra Jadeja , Yazuvendra Chahal and a few other unnamed stalwarts.  For all I know , the CAPTAIN is going to have one hell of a Job on hand leading the INDIA 11 . 

 Of late , the scenario unfolding before our eyes , be it at Delhi or Chennai does look gloomy if not utterly  scary to be very Polite . This does leave the future  Generation to come in all sort of a tangle . I must confess that I am not a Sangi as others are so fond of projecting anyone opposed to their money swindling ideas ,  but each passing day does lead me in to being one and a very proud one at that .  STARTING A NEW VENTURE Most ,  if not all of us have contemplated venturing on to a new field of activity at various times of our working career . At most times ,  this was always an extra field of making a livelihood apart from the job on hand .  MOTHER NATURE AND ITS WAYS Mother Nature has her own way of resurrecting Herself like the Phoenix . Temperature at Ajax are mostly in the negative during the peak Winter Months . I arrived here in Ajax around the end of April which is almost at the end of its annual Winter Cycle . The sight of the plants and trees with only the stalks visible had  hardly  any leaves or  sign of life in them . This did present a very sorry picture . A couple of pictures and a video pasted above which was  taken on the 8 th of May just goes to illustrate this point . The Pictures and Video below was taken today , the 7 th of June or exactly one Month after I captured  the very  same spots but  now pleasing to the eyes  in all its Greenery clearly goes to show the way of Nature which is GOD to most of us and  which takes care of this Cycle each year .   WORSHIPPING NATURE IS                           WORSHIPPING GOD

      AN ALL NEW EXPERIENCE  My most recent experience of travel by car from Ajax to Brampton, both of which happen to be a suburb of the Big City of Toronto but almost 80  Kms apart was an all new experience . The travel was unique for 3 reasons. We were travelling to Brampton , Canada’s Guruvayurappan Temple for the First Time  The occasion was even more special as we were accompanying our Granddaughter to the Temple after getting her Head Tonsured at the Scarborough Sri Balaji Temple . Last but not the least was the time taken for the travel . We travelled by the 401 Expressway . The 8 lane expressway is so well designed and most importantly the Road Rules so well followed that we were able to cover the distance of 80 Kms in 50 Minutes .   This is almost travelling from Agasthiarpatty to Kovilpatty in 50 Mts . I am aware of the fact that  rapid strides are being made to make Road Travel not only Fast but also Safe in India and the NHAI , THE NATIONAL HIGHWAYS AUTHORITY OF INDIA need
