          A THOUGHTFUL  MOTHER'S GIFT TO HER                      SON    For eons now , there have been innumerable stories of the Mother's love for their offsprings  . But the above video of a mother presenting her son with an AK 47 Assault Rifle on his wedding day makes an interesting reading  This unique event is purported to have taken place in Pakistan , the attire and the general demeanor does suggest that this does have its roots in some South Asian Country . I guess the mother is surely not presenting her son with the Assault Rifle to  safeguard the Nation's Frontiers as part of his duties as an Army Man  , That  job is better  left to his  Army Superiors.  On a lighter note , I guess the Mother is presenting the AK47 Assault Rifle to Safeguard Himself against the Dangerous , Risky , Unforeseen , Tumultuous , Physical , Verbal and a Thousand other such hazards  that He might have to face as he embarks upon  a new journey as a married man in as yet uncharted space .

The dance steps synchronized with the music being played on the ground , strapped to the safety devices  and making all those tantalizing movenents high above the ground in absolute thin air does leave one in a dizzy state . It would need all the courage that one can muster to perform these extremely risky maneuvers . I begin to wonder , just wonder if SIR ISSAC ÑEWTONS LAWS OF MOTION would have ever crossed their mind even as they were busy performing these mesmerizing steps.              " Ji " ARE YOU REALLY THERE  Having nothing better to do , it has now become an almost  everyday routine to tune into the various Talkshows on the TV in Tamil , English or Hindi each evening from say 7 pm to 10 pm . A discerning pattern does emerge after watching these programmes . It would be almost easy to note that the ENGLISH AND HINDI channels are by and large pro Govt of the day and barring a few instances , never seem to tire of waxing eloquent on all that our beloved PM stands for . THIS SUITS ME JUST FINE AS I AM MYSELF A TRUE MODI FOLLOWER . The difference is stark as soon as one tunes into the Tamil Channel Talk Shows . It is now a clear shift to Dravadian Politics and all that it stands for .  AGASTHIARPATTY MAROONED IN FIRST               RAINS OF 2020 MONSOON It is now almost a year now since the construction work on the narrow stretch of land between the Agasthiarpatty Erstwhile Madura Coats Staff/Workers colony and the Papanasam / Ambasamudram Highway was started . It is worth pointing out at the very outset that this Colony has been in existance for close to 5 decades as far as I remember . What is even more salient to note is that this small stretch of land used to be always flooded during the monsoons . Our objections to permission being granted for construction of Houses / Shops did not seem to bother anyone . The video attached shows the sorry state of the Kannadasan Street Residents and the flooded / stagnant water in front of our  houses . The water bodies have no outlet as their passage  has been completely  blocked on all sides .   The point to be noted here is that this is almost the VERY FIRST DAY OF ANY SERIOUS RAINS DURING THE CURRENT MONSOON IN NOV 2020 .

  LOT TO LEARN FROM THE OLD LADY  The usual busy traffic on the city road was beginning to tell on Ramesh and the  throbbing headache seemed to be getting worse each passing minute . The black coffee in the paper cup in his hand hardly seemed to make any difference as he tried maneuvering the car on the busy  highway . Ramesh  was at a traffic signal and the old lady's repeated requests accross the rolled down window pleading-requesting asking and infact begging  him to buy the last flower bouquet in her hand , though a bit irritating  began to soften a bit after he had a second  look at the old lady .  The lady was in her 70 s , Her dishevelled hair, darkly tanned skin because of long hours under the sun , her thin body frame,frail health  plus a striking resemblance to his own mother and as he still had time on his hand before his scheduled departure for Bangalore later in the night for an official meeting , made him  decide on spending a few minutes with the old lady .            RAVANASAMUDRAM  SPELT                     WRONGLY  IN  DEVANAGARI OR HINDI  WRONGLY SPELT IN HINDI OR DEVANAGARI HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPELT  Recently , I came across a news item in one of my Group Whatsapp posts which showed RAVANASAMUDRAM Railway Station Nameboard in the Devanagari or Hindi Script as RAAVANASAMUDRAM  . I for one am totally ignorant of how this has gone unnoticed thus far . For obvious reasons One is not inclined to be associated with a place that has the name Raavan associated with it . Now , this beautiful village is my native place and I would love to explain as to how the place came to be called as RAVANASAMUDRAM in the first place . The village was named after Ravanappa Naicker who ruled the place some 350 years back .
