 AGASTHIARPATTY MAROONED IN FIRST

              RAINS OF 2020 MONSOON



It is now almost a year now since the construction work on the narrow stretch of land between the Agasthiarpatty Erstwhile Madura Coats Staff/Workers colony and the Papanasam / Ambasamudram Highway was started .

It is worth pointing out at the very outset that this Colony has been in existance for close to 5 decades as far as I remember . What is even more salient to note is that this small stretch of land used to be always flooded during the monsoons . Our objections to permission being granted for construction of Houses / Shops did not seem to bother anyone .

The video attached shows the sorry state of the Kannadasan Street Residents and the flooded / stagnant water in front of our  houses . The water bodies have no outlet as their passage  has been completely  blocked on all sides .  
The point to be noted here is that this is almost the VERY FIRST DAY OF ANY SERIOUS RAINS DURING THE CURRENT MONSOON IN NOV 2020 .

Mosquito menace with the fear of Corona Pandemic is always a looming threat .  Snakes , Scorpions and Centipedes are  an ever presentn  big  threat here during the monsoons  months .

It is hoped that the Authorities who matter take note of the hardships of the Kannadasan Street Residents and take effective steps to find a permanent solution to the problem on hand .

HEALTH CATASTROPHE IS JUST WAITING                           TO CAST ITS NET       

AND WE ARE JUST COOLING OUR HEELS

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
