  PADDY FIELD A MONTH  BEFORE HARVEST TIME  There was this looming threat of everything coming to naught because of the  rains and flooding ,  continuous rains in   Ambasamudram around the same time last month . The TV updates of vast stretches of agricultural land completely flooded and going to waste did give a worrysome and  scarry picture . The threat of all the labour , effort and love put into to nurture the crop getting destroyed was always behind everyone's mind .  The money invested to raise the crop in these hard covid times where labour is hard to come bye and the  threat of  money invested to raise the crop   going down the drain was also behind everyone's mind . Thankfully , things have taken a turn for the better and no serious damage is seen in the crop which is awaiting Harvest sometime next month  in these parts . THE LABOUR AND EFFORT PUT IN  SEEM TO BE BEARING FRUIT

       PETROLEUM PRODUCT PRICES  Hardly a day passes when a hue and cry is not raised over the ever rising price of PETROL OR DIESEL . It is indeed a sorry state of affairs as this has a cascading effect on the  prices of other products of everyday consumption . I have come accross many posts where the 1963 bill from a Petrol Pump showing  the price of Petrol as 73 Paise / Ltr . Today in the year 2021 the price has rocketed to almost 90 Rs to a Ltr which is almost a 130 times rise . Many theories have been put forward . EXCHANGE RATE , BALANCE OF PAYMENT , DEMAND AND SUPPLY , CRUDE PRICES , REFINING CAPACITY , LOCATION OF THE RIGS , GOVERNMENTS FUND RAISING REQUIREMENTS  so on and so forth and all all play a part for this scenario.  In Somalia , Ethiopia , Nepal , Pakistan and other such countries the prices are comparatively lower , whereas in Sweden , Denmark or Singapore it is much higher at almost Rs 360 to a Ltr .               WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY  One is often left wondering at times at certain combination of words which though appearing  out of place do convey a lot of meaning on deeper analysis.  " Window of Opportunity " is one such combination . Many a time , while travelling in a Railway Train , the chant of  " CHAI GARAM , GARAM CHAI  " up North or "TEA KAAPI , KAAPI TEA " down South  while the Train makes a brief  stop at a Station must be familiar to each and every one of us . For the TEA , KAAPI vendor on the platform each WINDOW of the Train  opposite to him is one big fountain of Opportunity to market his wares while the Train makes a stop of hardly 5 minutes at the Station . How best he does it goes on to count for his daily sales . Our own PM was an one time Tea Vendor on the platform of a small non descript VADNAGAR  Railway Station in Gujarat , but today he holds the Highest Office of the land and helming the affairs of more than 130 Billion people

  WHERE LEARNING A LANGUAGE IS                          SACRILEGE  There was a recent news item where a GYPSY and a mom of a 3 year old is selling BEADS NECKLACES , ARMBANDS and LUCKY SOMETHINGS to the many visitors and tourists from across India and Abroad at Mamallapurm near Chennai . Surprise of Surprises , she had command over TAMIL TELUGU HINDI ENGLISH FRENCH AND BENGALI which she used in ample measure to market her wares . Coming as this in a land where learning any Language other than Tamizh is considered an absolute sacrilege , her efforts are outstanding .
