We are now almost well into    the Second year  of the Lockdown in some form or the other . That this Lockdown affects one and all is beyond any  doubt . This has brought about  different levels of discomfort to persons in different age groups . Undoubtedly , the most affected are the Senior Citizens in the 65 plus age groups . As a section , most likely to get affected first, this fact in itself  has its own attendant implications . We both have  stayed put inside the confines of our house for almost the last 10 months or more  . I have rarely  ventured out  during this period . AGASTHIARPATTY, LATEST CAUSALITY  TO LAND MAFIA . My association with Agasthiarpatty dates back to almost 45 years . The vast expanse of land which houses my present abode now was an open field which served as the Cricket Ground where Madura Coats Inter Unit Matches and Tirunelveli District League Cricket Matches were played on a regular basis . Yours Truely used to be a regular member taking part in these matches . This was also the location where an All India Kabbaddi Tournament was conducted as part of the Madura Coats Centenary Year Celebrations . The place also used to boast of An Airstrip on which Small Aircrafts in use by the top Executives of MCL could land . The unused Airstrip till the very recent past used to serve as the training ground for yours truely included , 4 wheeler driving and training space for new Driving  Liscence Seekers Come 1990 , our joy knew no bounds when these vacant lands were given away as plots for the Company Staff for Construction of their Home

Over the years , I have been living with the problem of water leakage and seepage during the rainy season of my house at Agasthiarpatty . This problem became all the more acute as i have had  to keep the house locked for almost 6 months each year during the last 6 years as we are mostly away in Canada with our son , daughter and grandkids  . My  friend Parasu who is also into the Apartment/ Tenements  construction business  suggested  waterproofing of the entire Terrace using AQUATECH DULUXE WATERPROOFING COAT . He suggested 3 coats of the same during the evening time for 3 consecutive days say between 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm after thorough scrapping and cleaning of the Terrace  surface . Date : 15 th Sept 2018 Place : Toronto Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation Occasion: Ganesh Pooja / Amma Srardham . My mother s Srardham fall each year on the Vinayaka Chathurthy day . Be it Kallidai or Ambas , this being an auspicious and special day , finding a Vadyaar for the Srardham is  always an issue . More often than not it is around 2.00 pm in the afternoon  and  done  the Hiranyam Way . In 2018 , we were at Toronto and various enquiries led us to Sringeri Vidya Bharathi Fondation . Kumara Vadyaar originally hailing from Suthamalli near Tirunelveli agreed to help us out , if we could present ourselves at 8.00 am at the Foundation . This was on a working day and both my Son and Daughter In Law had office work on that day . They however arranged a cab for our travel . Our plan for our second and final days visit included the visits to the following places . We had a packed schedule as our departure time from Tanjore was 8.00 pm . 1 ) Tanjore Bangaru Kamakshi Temple : This temple is situated in the heart of the Tanjore City . Bangaru Kamakshi refers to the Gold Plated Kamkshi Idol . This temple draws visitors on all days . 2 ) Thittai Vashishteshwarar Temple : This temple some 12 kms from Tanjore is busy on all days as there are innumerable visitors who flock here for worship . This is especially so because this happens to be a GURU STHALAM . 3 ) Gangai Konda Chozha Puram : This temple some 70 kms from Thittai was conceived as a replica of the Big Temple at Tanjore . While the father Raja Raja Chozhan built the Big Temple at Tanjore , his son Rajendra Chozhan conceived the same here . Both bear a striking resemblance to each other . Be that as it may . 28 th Feb

Mohan/Malathy , our Sambandhis and we two have made several combined visits to places of Pilgrimage both in and around our place of stay at Ambasamudram which include the Nava Thirupathy , Nava Kailayam and Nambi Hills just to mention a few and to the far off KASHI / VARANASI in UP . In fact there would be hardly any place of interest within a radius of 100 Kms which we could have missed around our place at Ambasamudram . The very recent visit to the 27 Temples in 3 days is just a case in point . When the possiblity was explored to visit the Tanjore Periya Kovil and places of similar interests in and  around Thanjavur last week ,  we readily agreed to the proposal  and made the necessary Rail Reservations and Hotel Bookings . With Google and Google Akka s help we settled on the following Itinerary for the First Day s Visit .  1 )Vaduvur Gothandaramasamy  Temple  This Temple is just 10 kms from Tanjore .
