      A very Disturbing Trend  Each passing day seems to open a new face of an ugly trend of taking a stand on any and everything in our part of the World . Mahesh Theekshana of Sri Lanka  has been bought by the CSK at the current Auction for the IPL 2022 which was held just a few days back . A hashtag " BOYCOTT CSK " has apparently been created by the enlightened TAMILS WORLDWIDE to come down heavily on CSK for taking this stand . I fail to see any logic in this . Sri Lanka afterall can never be equated with Pakistan . Moreover the Government of the Day in the State was a prominent member of the Ruling Front which  allowed the massacre of the Tamils  in the Island Nation .  PRAISEWORTHY WORK BY     INDIA POSTAL SERVICES    As can be seen the Services of the INDIA POST needs to be appreciated  for the trouble taken to locate and contact the account holder and inform him of his account status  . The account in my name was opened in Jan 2002 at the ANGADI sub Postoffice at Ambasamudram . The post office is now  closed and I am told is operating from the Head Post Office itself and does not exist at it's original place next to the LIC office .  I have stopped having any transaction with the Post Office from the middle of 2005 . Call it oversight or sheer memory loss , I have totally forgotten about this account for almost 15 years now . It is nice to know that a sum of Rs 1823 plus the Interest for the last 15 years can now be claimed by me at the HEAD POST OFFICE AT AMBASAMUDRAM on presentation of the Passbook        ( Which I seem to  have preserved with other  Documents ) and an  Aadhar Card to prove my identity  . . RATHA SAPTHAMI & BHEESHMA                         ASHTAMI  This is the celebration to mark the beginning of spring. This comes on the seventh day after amavasa of thai. Sun on this day moves from the southeast to the northeast. People worship sun on this day. He who takes bath early in the morning with arka leaf is purified by mother Ganges. Seven Arka leaves (errukkam leaf) are important on this day. Ladies keep seven leafs with turmeric and raw rice on their head and take bath. One on their head, two on shoulders, two on knees and two on feet. Fasting is important on this day. It is very auspicious day to offer tarpana to our ancestors. Women put rangoli with seven horses and chariot representing sun god. chakkrai pongal is prepared, (akkaravadasal) is prepared and offered to god for good health and prosperity. Ratha Sapthami is being celebrated to worship the Sun God. Ratha Sapthami falls on the seventh day following the Sun’s northerly movement which is called as “Uttarayana”

         FEW SECONDS OF A SHOT               LIFELONG MEMORIES  Certain experiences stay on in ones memory despite the passage of time. Come to think of it , there are many we as Indians are passionate about . Films , Film Music and the Stars of these films are one such item  .  It may or may not be you ,  but one of your close friends who is fortunate enough to be  in the limelight while a film is being shot  .  The fact that it is at a place close to your heart adds to the magic . The year is 1980 , and the movie is SAVITHRI which starred Vinith ,Pratap Pothan and Menaka ( Mother of the current day star KEERTHY SURESH ).and shot around Thoranamalai , AZHWARKURICHY and Singampatty . All these are places close to my Native place Ravanasamudram and VK PURAM , the place where I made a  living .  RARAMANUJA ACHARYA STATUE OF EQUALITY AT  HYDERABAD  I am not sure how many had the fortune or the inclination to watch the unveiling of the Plus 200 Feet Equality Statue  of Saint Ramanuja Acharya at Hyderabad yesterday . The very Size , Magnificence , Attention to Detail , Workmanship , Colours , Lighting and the Spiritual Aspect of the event left everyone in a total daze .  The Hours , Days , Months and in fact  YEARS that must have taken to conceive and execute a project of such mammoth proportion is equally hard to be imagine  . That ,  no less than the  PM of the country Shri Narendra Modi graced the occasion to dedicate the Edifice to the Nation spoke volumes of his desire to see an Equality among all citizens of India irrespective of the Caste or Creed as enunciated by Saint RAMANUJA ACHARYA Himself is hard to miss . The pertinent point to be noted here is that the Saint was a TAMIL and he was being Remembered in TELENGANA and that too at  HYDERABAD IN PARTICULAR . Many , like
