  THE DAY WE WON THE CRICKET  WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP                            There are some Days &  Incidents which stay firmly etched in memory . One such day  was and is the 25 th of  June  1983 . Kapil s Devils after a stupendous and unbelievable run in the Round Robin League were in the Finals of  The World Cup Cricket  and were facing  the Mighty West Indians for the coveted WORLD CUP TROPHY . The Indians were clearly the Pre Match Minnows . The West Indies had Vivian Richards and Clive Lloyd at the top to name just two of the greatest batsmen ever to have played the game and the Tearaway Speedmerchants  Andy Roberts , Michael Holding , Joel.Garner and Malcom Marshall in its ranks .         PP&C , NEW THOUGHT  Just before we embarked on our Visit to Canada , we had to get some essential Medicines for ourselves and for our Kids and Grandkids in Canada . Over the Counter sale of Medicines without a Doctor's Prescription is almost a NO in Canada . Medicines for FEVER , CAUGH , COLD , LOOSE MOTION , VOMITING,  TOOTH ACHE , BODY ACHE , BURNS , DENTURE CLEANING TABS etc had to be procured .  Appollo Pharmacy at Agasthiarpatty were a great help and went out of their way to be helpful in all our Requirements .  This is when I realized the complexity of the Job on Hand . Medicines for Adult and Kids in varying Degrees of Measurement as 50 mm , 100 mm , 250 mm , 500 mm , Caugh syrup for Dry or Wet  Caugh , Adult , Infant or Kid had to be taken special care . This is just about a list of 10 Basic Ailments that we are all aware. Unfortunately Mankind suffers from Thousand other Ailments and Medicines in their  Thousands need  to be Manufactured .     8th Canada Visit , This Time         As A Permanent Resident  The advancing age makes Each passing year that much more tiresome . Starting at near 6.00 PM from Ambasamudram by Train on the 18 th and landing at Regina in Canada on the 20 th at 11.50 PM Local Time  ( which is   11.20 AM at Ambas on the 21 st  ) or close to 60  hours is really hard on a person , even more so when you are in your 70s . The 06004 Tirunelveli to Tambaram Weekly Special which goes via Ambas - Tenkasi was the only Train where we could manage to get Reserved Berths in 2 Tier AC Coach inspite of the nearly 8 Trains Running in this Section . The 27 " Luggage will go underneath the Berths of only 2 Tier AC Coaches . My previous experience of Air Travel has taught me this . We arrived at Tambaram on Schedule at 9.00 AM and being welcomed by torrential rain the previous night at Chennai which recorded 17 Cms in Rain around the Meenambakkam Airport . ALMOST THE LONGEST DAY OF  THE YEAR - JUNE - 2023 - REGINA  The Longest Day of the Year at Regina as in most parts of the World well above and North of the Equator is on the 21 st of June Each Year .  Here  , I am now at Regina in Canada and Witness to this Phenomenon just a day later on the 22- 23 June 2023 . Two Videos are enclosed to highlight this annual event.  The Day Light on this Day is Eight  Hours and 27 Minutes more than the Shortest Day of the year which is on the 21 st of Dec . Some of you might be wondering as to what I am doing at this age and at that time of the Day/Night with a Mobile in hand to Capture the picture  . With a 12 Hour Time Difference between Agasthiarpatty and Regina , today being just the 2nd Day after my arrival in Canada , JET LAG has had a large part to play in keeping me awake at this part of the Day/Night .

       FEEL GOOD CARTOONS  OF       OF A PROFESSION,  CLOSE TO                      YOUR HEART  Many factors go on to make Textiles a field which may not be the First Choice for most Professionals if given an option.  A 24 x 7 work life , working in shifts which require your Body Clock to adjust to a new pattern  every Week  , Labour intensive environment ,  High Decibel level because of the Machines  be it The Spinning , Weaving or Processing make the Working in this Field Rather Difficult . People do however get used to this and become successful Professionals inspite and despite all these  hardships . My Cousin Chandrashekar , who Graduated from VJTI in Textiles  and went on to make a mark for himself  at The ICAR   - CENTRAL INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH ON COTTON TECHNOLOGY  or CIRCOT in Mumbai also had a streak of an Artist in him .       CYCLONE BIPARJOY                   DWARAKA   Terrifying Scenes as Heavy Rains and Strong Winds Wreak Havoc in Gujarat Town, Several Structures Damaged Another video from Jamnagar showed heavy rainfall and gusty winds triggered by severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy causing destruction and leaving many structures damaged including houses as the cyclone prepares for landfall. Coming as this does barely 2 Months after our visit to Somnath , Dwaraka , Beyt Dwarka not to forget Junagadh , Jamnagar and Porbundar which I have covered in detail in my Blogs 548 to 551 in   thinktank-revathyganesh.blogspot.com   the nature's FURY around these parts in the form of Cyclone BIPARJOY has come as a big shock. Hope and pray that Dwarakadish limits the damage to the minimum .  

         News Reel - Movie Trailer           53 Years - Time Roll  Back  Recently the chance viewing of an old clip showing the INDIAN NEWS REEL and the Trailer of an old Hindi Movie GUMNAAM which was Released some 58 years brought back very fond memories of my own early School Days . ARORA , MILONI and BOMBAY Talkies are Theaters in Kharagpur where I have witnessed many Movies in my Teens  . No show was complete without the Trailer of the soon to be released Movies followed by the Black and White Indian News Reel Highlighting the recent Newsworthy Events .     WTC FINALS - WRONG                   PRIORITIES  The BCCI or the Board of Control for Cricket in India has never had it this good in recent times .  When I say GOOD TIMES , I mean the Money in its coffers and not the Silverware by means of winning an ICC Tournament , the last of which was almost 10 years back . How an entity like the BCCI which prides itself on being  a Professionally Managed Organisation can be so wrong in marking its priorities is a mystery which begs an answer . Anyone which includes my 93 year old female neighbor or even someone with even a  passing knowledge of IPL Cricket will endorse the fact that this 40 Over Razzmatazz of 4 Hours  is a Slam - Bang variety of Cricket where being innovative from Ball One and Score as many runs as possible is the name of the game.    Purushottama Perumal Kovil                                                                      Ambasamudram Not many ,  even if they hail from  these parts would have heard or visited The Purushottama Perumal Kovil which very recently celebrated its  KUMBHABHISHEKAM. The very locale of this Temple is a case in point . Surrounded by Green Paddy Fields on all sides , the near 200 Metres paved pathway leading to the Temple is a boon to the sore eyes ,  accustomed as they are  to the concrete jungle all around .  Flanked between Ambasamudram and Kallidaikurichy on either side , with the elevated Railway Track behind it and facing the Newly Constructed Tower of Erichudayaar Temple right in front but at a fair distance  , the locale itself is very scenic and soothing to the eyes .  Now , coming to the Temple itself , this has some very unique features .
