The stories of  Rags to Riches have always been a favourite for many  . As a school going kid , the umpteen Rags to Riches stories on the Silver screen where a AMITABH BACHCHAN , RAJESH KHANNA OR OUR OWN SIVAJI GANESAN  OR KAMALAHASAN become overnight Multi Millionaires from abject poverty does make it a compelling viewing . The picture that comes to mind immediately is PADAYAPPA starting in  abject poverty at the Beginning of the Title Song and ending up owning up all that one can set your sight upon  by the end of the song .




The True Life Stories of ABDUL KALAM  DHIRUBHAI AMBANI , INDIRA NOORI , RAJANIKANT , NARAYANA MOORTHY SUNDER PITCHAI MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI Make us all pround and inspired by their Success . 

For sometime now , we have a person who used to sell TEA on the RAILWAY PLATFORM of a small Railway Station Called Vadnagar and who is now the undisputed leader of a country of  140  Crores  and is  now  recognized and  lauded the World Over for his all around  achievements .

The recent addition of 20  year old YESHASWI JAISWAL to this elite group is a case in point . Here is a lad from a tiny village of Rajasthan with extremely limited resources  but high on hopes and a passion  to make a  name for himself  in the game of CRICKET . 

His move to Mumbai with nothing in his pocket except for his passion for the game even more inspiring  .  He made a living as a PAANI POORI Vendor on the roads of Mumbai . He is reported to have gone to bed on more occasions than one can remember without even a morsel of food for dinner . His dwelling had nothing but  a plastic sheet as a roof for on brick fence of a wall on the periphery of a Cricket Ground near Azad Maidan in Mumbai . 

His exploits at the under 19 World Cup had been noticed by all and he was contracted to play for the RAJASTHAN ROYALS with a whopping Price Tag of Rs 4 Crores for the 2023  IPL Season . He has repaid the faith reposed on him by Scoring 625 runs at a fantastic strike rate of 163.6 and almost succeeded in getting the Rsjasthan Royals into the Play Off Stage .

His exploits with the BAT has not gone unnoticed . He is now in the Indian Test Squad for the World Test Championship at The  Lords in London starting on June 7 th .

And guess what,  his net worth is now all of 16 Crores .

Not bad for a lad who slept on an empty stomach to persue his passion .

Bravo Yeshaswi , You are an inspiration to many , best of luck 

PS : I think it is high time that we stop making fun of the PAANI POORI VENDORS OR TEA SELLERS and start emulating their achievements. 

Caution : The Get Rich Quickly employed by  the " YOU KNOW WHO " should never be the chosen Modus Operandi . It is bound to lead you behind the bars someday or lead you to a very discomforting way of life not only  for you but to  your entire  family .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in .                   Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
