Camping as i was  at Regina in Canada then  , I had my own fears while making  Railway Reservation from Chennai to Tirunelveli for my return to Agasthiarpatty . Considering that this was for a train  travel which was scheduled  almost 13000 KMS  away for a  journey in a different  country with a different time zone and currency , i had my reservations  about  being able to do this successfully online , but as it turned out this was  a fairly easy job . Being a user of the IRCTC APP made the whole excercise simple and it took hardly 10 minutes to get this done . Thanks to The Indian Railways and special thanks to the IRCTC APP . This brought back contrasting memories of making Railway Reservations in the early 1970s .  Making reservations during the summer holidays either for self or family and freinds was almost an annual affair . A lot of us  ( Yours truely very much  included ) have this habit of posting pictures on the social media and derive a sense of achievement when comments or likes are recieved for their posts . Three  posts of the  recent past in varied contexts and under very different circumstances  come to mind . I leave it to you to judge as to what impact these have on the public in general and  the youth at large . 1 ) An ardent and diehard fan of Thala Ajith posted a picture of " Thala " celebrating the Birthday of his daughter  on his Facebook page . Comments ranging from SEMMA THALA , SUPER ,WAY TO GO , THALA -THALA THAAN ,  KATHUKO - THALA KITTA KATHUKO  and many such comments on a similar vein by the other ardent fan brigades were posted in response to this . THE QUESTION IN MY MIND IS Is it not natural for someone to celebrate one s close relative s  birthday or do we have to follow the footsteps of some goddamned person who has a mass following  on the silver screen .

There are always two sides to an issue and one s perception depends on which side of the fence one is sitting in . A Kashmiri who has been enjoying the fruits of the special status for the last 70 years , might feel hard done by this decision. They have been ruled thus far by an electorate which boasts of only 2 %  of the population voting all along . All employments are restricted to Kashmiris only , be it the police or any other Govt agency . No Indian outside of the State can buy a landed property in Kashmir . Women loose  their right to landed property if they marry outside their state . A Paki getting married to a Kashmiri Girl gets an automatic Indian Citizenship only to target , stone and carry out terrorist activities against Indian Security Forces . Accross the border pandering and payment to throw stones at our security forces has been the norm .
