There are always two sides to an issue and one s perception depends on which side of the fence one is sitting in .
A Kashmiri who has been enjoying the fruits of the special status for the last 70 years , might feel hard done by this decision. They have been ruled thus far by an electorate which boasts of only 2 % of the population voting all along .
All employments are restricted to Kashmiris only , be it the police or any other Govt agency .
No Indian outside of the State can buy a landed property in Kashmir .
Women loose their right to landed property if they marry outside their state .
A Paki getting married to a Kashmiri Girl gets an automatic Indian Citizenship only to target , stone and carry out terrorist activities against Indian Security Forces .
Accross the border pandering and payment to throw stones at our security forces has been the norm .
On the other side we have a small percentage of people who for their own political survival and personal reason feel that the people of Kashmir have been given a raw deal . A section of the elected representatives of Tamilnadu and the Print and Visual Media form a large portion of this miniscule group . It is highly doubtful if these learned lawmakers will be able to locate correctly places like Srinagar , Leh or Kargil on the Map of India , leave alone any other matter which may bear some semblance of importance to the issues on hand .
All others hail this move and support the steps taken to put an end to the disparity.
No country of any standing can have two different set of rules for its citizens .
It would indeed by a proud day when the Indian Tricolour is lofted at all places from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on the 15 th August 2019 which is just around the corner .
It is in everyone s interest to instill a sense of togetherness with our Brothets and Sisters of Kashmir and assure them that we are with them and a new Dawn is going to be ushered and their days of misery are over .
