Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3 

The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River . 

The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life . 

Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water . 

The Dhambadhi Pooja after the bath was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . The Sastrigal performed the ritual which is an almost second time marriage where vows are taken to lead a life in all happiness and begging forgiveness for the sins committed thus far .

The Paataal  Big Hanumaan Temple was the next place of Visit followed by the Visit to the small Hanuman Temple . 

We got back into the Hotel for lunch and left for Varanasi after a brief visit to Ananda Bhavan ( Ancestral Properties of the Progeny of Motilal Nehru ). It was nothing much to write home about except to say that it provided us with one of the Best Maintained Washrooms in  the whole of Allahabad . 

We left for Varanasi around 3.30 and stopped enroute at a place where Sita Mai is taken in by Mother Earth . There is a huge Hanuman Statue also nearby . 

The travel from here to Varanasi was very interesting, Ashok as seems quite normal for him kept us all enthralled with anecdotes of his experiences in his previous tours . This was followed by self introduction of the Yaatrees . This was extremely interesting and brought the group members even closer to knowing  each other . This is only half done as other half of the Yaatrees and especially the Womenfolks have yet to introduce themselves. 

We started from here and reached Outer Varanasi around 9.00 after which point Buses and Larger Transport Vehicles are not allowed into the City . 

We reached Hotel Singh Residency by Auto and as it was already close to 10.00 Clock ,  Our plans to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple was put on hold for the next Morning . 

Dinner done, we planned to Visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple starting at 5.00AM ! the next morning .
