Not many ,  even if they hail from  these parts would have heard or visited The Purushottama Perumal Kovil which very recently celebrated its  KUMBHABHISHEKAM.

The very locale of this Temple is a case in point . Surrounded by Green Paddy Fields on all sides , the near 200 Metres paved pathway leading to the Temple is a boon to the sore eyes ,  accustomed as they are  to the concrete jungle all around . 

Flanked between Ambasamudram and Kallidaikurichy on either side , with the elevated Railway Track behind it and facing the Newly Constructed Tower of Erichudayaar Temple right in front but at a fair distance  , the locale itself is very scenic and soothing to the eyes . 

Now , coming to the Temple itself , this has some very unique features .

The Purushottama Perumal is seated on a deck of 5 PEETAMS which include the GARUDAR , AADISHESHAN , PADMA PEEDAM and KARGODAGAN . The consort ALAMELUMANGAI is seated on his lap . 

Another unique feature of this Temple is that GARUDA SEVAI is performed every single day as the Perumal Himself is Seated on the GARUDAR . 

Please do visit this Temple when you are around these parts , you are sure to find it Spiritually and Mentally invigorating .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
