UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD VISIT ENTERTAINMENT CAPITAL 24







The last place of visit planned by us for the US visit was THE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD , the Entertainment Capital of the World . We had booked a Cab for the travel from Extended Stay America to the Studios . This again was an hours drive in the amidst of heavy traffic to cover a distance of 50 miles or 80 kms as we are used to saying at our place  . The cab driver was an ageing and grey Parsi man who had migrated some 30 years back from the present day Mumbai . He was thrilled that i could converse with him in Gujarathi. In fact he was so thrilled that  he even promised to pick us up on our return at 10 pm in the night .  Knowing an Extra  Indian  language has its own advantages even in a foreign country .

The Ticket  Charges to Visit the STUDIOS  is very high at 139 $ per head spread over 2 days .
One has to be very time conscious to be able to see all the places within a  day .
We saw all the must see places which included
HARRY POTTER WORLD
FAST AND FURIOUS RIDE
SIMPSONS RIDE
TRANSFORMER RIDE
VISIT TO THE SPECIAL EFFECT STUDIO

The  queue is long at each of these places and one will have   to wait  atleast 30 to 45 mts for their turn .

The last was the best , THE STUDIO TRAM RIDE WITH THE 3 D glasses . We were taken around the replicas of the places where the greatest of the Hollywood movies were made which included PSYCHO JAWS THE BIRD AND KING KONG . SCENES OF A FLOOD , VOLCANO AND THUNDERSTORM WHICH TAKE PLACE LIVE IN OUR PRESENCE IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION .

THE 3D RIDE INTO THE JURAISSIC PARK JUNGLE WITH THE DINOSAURS BREATHING ON TO YOUR FACE AND THE FLOWING WATER INSIDE THE TRAM CAR IS AN EXPERIENCE IN ITSELF.

We all had a great time and Aarna especially so as she was not afraid to enjoy any of the rides . Even mami had a very nice experience except for a minor fall at the HARRY POTTER ride . Thanks to Shekar for being the perfect escort .

As promised the Parsi Bavaji was there to pick us back for our return trip .

So much for the VISIT TO THE US , we were back at Kamesh s place at Regina , Canada  the next day .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . VAIKOM VISIT- IN GODS OWN COUNTRY - 686

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
