INDIANS are more INDIAN when they are Abroad - 111

It somehow seems strange that we as Indians value our culture , tradition and religious beliefs more when we are abroad than when we are at home in India . For reasons which we all are well aware this difference is all the more pronounced if one happens to be from Tamilnadu .

With both my son and daughter having by virtue of their job made it their home at various locations across the globe , i have been fortunate enough to celebrate "  at home functions "  with them at these locations . Be it a place like Manali , Leeds , London , Regina or Toronto or be it a festival like Diwali , Vinayaka Chaturthy , Saraswati Pooja , Navaratri to name just a few or the more elaborate ones like the Grihapravesam , Seemantham or the newborn one s naming ceremony , the attention to detail is mind boggling . It is in no way different to the ones performed back home .

Bala Vikas , Soora Samhaaram , Gokulashtami , Veda Parayanam are a regular feature in almost all temples and the crowds that participate on these occasions leave one in an awe .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
