HOW GROSSLY CALLOUS CAN ONE GET - 114

The other day there was a post in the  WhatsApp group of which I am also a member  which lampooned the Indian Medical System .

 The X Ray of a patient is shown with a cockroach purportedly in the lungs . He is advised to seek medical attention abroad as it was a complicated surgical  operation and was advised to go to Singapore as it had the latest medical facilities .
The patient undergoes the operation and when he recoups , he is informed that there was no cockroach in his lungs . The cockroach in the X Ray was probably because of its presence before the lens when the X Ray of the patient was taken in India .
WHILE THIS MAY GO DOWN VERY WELL AS A JOKE TO BE SHARED AND A HEARTY LAUGH TO GO AROUND , THIS DOES A GREAT DISSERVICE TO OUR MEDICAL PROFESSION . MEDICAL TOURISM AND THE ALLIED FIELDS ATTRACT A WHOLE LOT OF VISITORS FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE WHO COME HERE FOR TREATMENT . SINGAPORE AND ITS ILK ARE NOWHERE IN THIS RACE .

 FILMSTARS AND POLITICIANS LIKE THALAIVAR OR SUDALAI GO TO THESE PLACES FOR TREATMENT BECAUSE THEY NEED  TO RETAIN THEIR STAR VALUE AND NOT TO LET THE PUBLIC GET TO KNOW OF THE SERIOUSNESS OF THEIR AILMENTS AND THE EMBARRASSING  REASONS WHICH CAUSED THESE AILMENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE .

    This joke has been circulating in various forms. I live in Africa. The joke is between Tanzania and India - India shown in better light.

    So it is not taken seriously by anyone

Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
