AMBAS / KALLIDAI - SIVARATRI 9 TEMPLE VISIT 146

As has been the practice for the last 4 years to visit 9 Siva Temples in and around Ambas/Kallidai belt on the SIVA RAATRI DAY, self and Mami visited the following Temples .
1 )The first Temple of our visit was Brahmadesam Kailasanathar - Brahannayaki Amman Temple . I have detailed about this temple in my earlier blogs .

2 ) Thiruvaaliswaram : Thiruvaalinathaswamy and Soundaravalliamman Temple . Not many , this place included , would have seen or heard of this absolutely beautiful  temple Maintained by the Archeological Survey of India . We were fortunate to witness the Pradosham  Abhishekam also at this place . This Temple is situated some 4 Kms from Brahmadesam Temple . 

3 ) Ambasamudram Sannadhi Street Chokkanathar / Meenakshiamman Temple .

 4 ) Ambasamudram Ammaiappar / Mattuvaarkuzhali Amman Temple near Seethalakshmi Hospital .


5 ) Kallidaikurichi - Kulasekaraudayaar (Vamsa Vridhi) / Aramkaathanayagi Amman Temple  . The famous Nataraja Statue retrieved from Australia after the relentless efforts of The Top Cop  Shri Pon Manickavel finds pride of place here . 




6 ) Paanenthy Appar / Vadivu Azhagi Temple somewhat behind the New Kallidai Bus Stand . The crowd in this almost inaccessible place is amazing.  The lighting of 11008 oil  lamps was really special .

7 ) Kallidai Ramalingaswamy / Parvatha Vardhini Temple just on the banks of the Kallidai Canal ( VAIKAAL )


8 ) Erithaarkondaar Temple on the banks of the Tambarabarani River .

9 ) Mayilvaahanan/Anandavalli Temple near the Mall Kadai lane at Ambas .

Despite all the negative talk , the crowds who gathered and offered  their sincere prayers does suggest that things are not as alarming as is being portrayed widely . 

We covered our visits to the 9 Siva Temples in 3 hours .

    Excellent ganesh...My practise every year in Bangalore Maharshi barathi with chathurveda japan at singer sankara mutt in chandran per bangalore from 6 pm to 7 am next day .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
