NAMBIKOVIL MOHAN MALATHY - DAY 2 AND 3 VISITS - 144

The original plan for day 2 , 3  of Mohan and Malathy s current  visit  to Manjolai and Khodayar Estates had to be shelved as by a strange coincidence the Public Works Department chose these very days for the long pending  relaying of the ghat road and all private vehicle movements were stopped by the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Forest Agency .

We chose a few interesting places in the newly formed Tenkasi District on day 2 and Tuticorin , Virudhunagar  District on Day 3 . Almost all were visits to the Temples in these areas .
DAY - 2
Ravanasamudram my Native Village ( in Tirunelveli District ) , Kadayam , the place where my better half worked as a teacher for almost 35 years , Courtallam Falls(almost dry ) , Ilanji Murugan Temple , Ellathur  Saniswaran Temple   , Puliyarai Dakshinamoorty Temple , Courtallam Chitra Sabhai and The Palliarai Poojai at Kutraleeshwarar Temple .

DAY - 3
Kovilpatti Shenbagavalli Temple
Kazhugumalai Murugan Temple
Sattur Irrukankudi Mariamman Temple.
We also visited the Boominathar Temple at Veeravanallur , a visit to this temple is considered auspicious before any Land or related issues .

DAY - 4
We had earmarked this for a visit to the
Nava Thirupathy Temples all in Tuticorin District . We could visit all the places in the planned Time Slot . Alwarthirunagari was special as we could take part in the Annual Masi Festival of Nammalwaar.

Self and Revathy had the pleasant and happy company of Malathy and Mohan for 4 days and were sad when the time for their departure arrived . We had visited almost 25 Temples in
TIRUNELVELI , KANYAKUMARI , TUTICORIN , TENKASI AND VIRUDHUNAGAR DISTRICTS .

I am enclosing some pictures of the visit as a detailed description of the visit will be rather repetitive.

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . VAIKOM VISIT- IN GODS OWN COUNTRY - 686

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
