WHEN YOU SEE A ONE
For lack of an alternative , I have always been a voter of the present dispensation who rule the State of Tamilnadu . I have at the same time never been a votary of the many schemes and policies which are so dear to them . Their Freebies on offer is one such policy which I strongly oppose . I feel that far too many people who do not need these Freebies are eating into the categories of people who are in dire need of the Govt help.
For the last three decades , I and my family hold a NULL RATION CARD . For the uninformed , A Null Ration Card does not entail you to any benefits under the Public Distribution System . It is merely a document that establishes your Identity and Place of Residence . I firmly believe that by opting for the NULL RATION CARD , I have made in my own way the life of someone not so fortunate a wee bit better .
As of now , Note the operative words AS OF NOW
TAMILNADU seems to be far better placed in the fight against the deadly Virus of Covid 19
Cry hoarse as they might , the opposition party s decrying of any thing that the Govt s at the State or Central Level try to do in this fight seem to have very few takers so much so that their very names itself are starting to be getting forgotten .
In this context , The Times of India coming out with data by its Analytics Team findings make interesting reading .
Tamilnadu along with Kerala and Karnataka and to a lesser extent Andhra Pradesh and Telengana among the Larger States are projected to perform much better than the other states in a worst case scenario when the lockdown is lifted on the 3 rd of May .
It further goes on to add that among the Mega Metros , Chennai and Bangalore will fare much better than the others .
There obviously must be some reason as to why these States and Tamilnadu in particular have done better than the others .
Two recent events come to mind in this regard .
Two days back there were these two ladies from the Health Department quite distinct in their starched grey apparels knocking on our doors and enquiring if among other things ,
A ) If the two of us in the house nearing the 70 s were having any health related issues .
B )If we were having any respiratory problems in particular .
C ) If we are able to get the Medicine as prescribed by our Doctors
They left only after being convinced that there were no medical issues with both of us and that surprisingly we were not under any form of prescribed medication despite our age .
The Second visit yesterday by the Village Officer and from the Taluk Officials was even more surprising.
They wanted to know if my children who were abroad had any issues with their stay abroad like Food , Shelter or Travel back requirements . They left after collecting my sons contact number and after being assured that they did not have any such problem in their stay in Canada .
How they came to know about our ages and our children being abroad is still a mystery.
My NULL RATION CARD from which I do not procure anything is the only documented detail that they have .
What is clear though is that the Govt of the day does have officials who are people centric and are willing to extend a helping hand if needed .
WELL DONE OFFICIALS OF THE STATE AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENTS. BRAVO .

True. The current government is doing good job. Surely the proclaimed opposition would not have any better. Wish the current govt to do away with TASMAC permanently. That could make worth the Covid19 torture now undergo.
