     HOMEMADE WATER TANK CLEANER 

Individual and stand alone houses have a problem with the accumulation of moss and fine sediment at the bottom of their overhead water tank . The problem is even more pronounced if the water storage is from a bore with the help of a motor . Moss formation can now be overcome with the RUBBERISED PAINTS that are now available in the market .

Cleaning the sediment on the tank floor is the responsibility of the owner . This is done by employing a suitable Hand to drain the tank completely in the first place and then clean the bottom using a mop . This laborious and elaborate proceedure costs time and money . Bo , A suitable hand and at the same time a risk free hand are difficult to find in these Covid 19 Times .

A simple way to do the same with a made at home device may be of help to many .


 Take an ordinary 1 Litre water bottle and  cut it in the middle .

A 2 Meter hose of  0.5 inches Dia  is inserted at the top with a hole made through the cap . This fixture has to be airtight which can be ensured with the use of a Glue like Anabond or Quickfix and or  insulation tape if necessary .

Hold the device in the form of a " U " and pour water into the cup till the water comes out of the other end of the tube . Firmly place your thumb on the open end of the tube and insert the cup into the water inside the  tank . Water will start flowing out of the free end . One might remember our School lesson WATER SEEKS ITS OWN LEVEL WHEN FREE .

By moving the Cupped portion along the floor of the tank , the suction ot water to fill up the Vacuum created by the flowing water  along with the sediments cleans the tank to perfection and that too in no time . The added advantages are 

NO NEED TO EMPTY THE TANK FULLY 

NO EXTRA HAND REQUIRED 

NO NEED TO GET INSIDE THE TANK 

NO SOGGING ANYWHERE 

FAST AND TIME SAVING

Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
