RAGS TO RICHES - TRUE STORIES

The rags to riches stories have always been my favourite . As a school going kid , the umpteen Rags to Riches stories on the silver screen where a AMITABH BACHCHAN , RAJESH KHANNA OR OUR OWN SIVAJI GANESAN  OR KAMALAHASAN become overnight Multi Millionaires from abject poverty does make it a compelling viewing .

The true life stories of ABDUL KALAM  DHIRUBHAI AMBANI , INDIRA NOORI , RAJANIKANT , NARAYANA MOORTHY who attained positions which is not only inspiring but a path for all youngsters to follow . 

For sometime now , we have a person who used to sell TEA on the RAILWAY PLATFORM heading a 130 Crore Country and being recognized for his efforts and lauded the World Over .

The recent addition of 19 year old YESHASWI JAISWAL to this elite group is a case in point . Here is a lad from a tiny village of Rajasthan with very limited means but high on hopes to make his name in the game of CRICKET . 

His move to Mumbai with nothing in his pocket but high resolve to make his name for himself as a Cricketer while making a living as a PAANI POORI vendor on the roads of Mumbai and a plastic sheet as a roof of his dwelling at the wall of a Cricket Ground   .

His recent exploits at the under 19 World Cup recently has been noticed by all and he has been contracted to play for the RAJASTHAN ROYALS with a whopping pricetag of Rs 3 Crores . 

Bravo Yeshaswi , best of luck .



I think it is high time that we stop making fun of the PAANI POORI VENDORS OR TEA SELLERS and start emulating their achievements.

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Lunch packet Distribution done we were on our way and were before time at Lucknow .  Lucknow was a lot different from what I had imagined , airport was spotlessly clean as was their baggage handling services .  Mr Ashok saw to it that we were off on a Bus to Ayodhya in a flash . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . VAIKOM VISIT- IN GODS OWN COUNTRY - 686

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
