RISK MANAGEMENT- AN ALL NEW MEANING

One of the oft repeated terms in Mangement Studies or Classes is RISK MANAGEMENT . The term is sure to send the shivers down a person when he comes across the term for the first time .  

For the common man what it entails is the listing out the possible scenarios while embarking on a job and have a Plan A B or C to successfully face them . 

Let us for a start imagine a man from Chennai on a Holy Visit to Kashi to cleanse himself with a bath in the Holy Ganges and to pay his obeisance to Kashi Vishwanath .

What are the likely items that go to make this happen ,

Should be able to get the Train Reservations. Should have no health issues before or during the journey , should have enough finances for the trip , Weather Gods should be on the same page ,  suitable place of stay should be available , South Indian Food should be available , coping up with lack of Knowledge in Hindi should be managed  etc etc , the list could go on and on . How one goes about facing all these issues in the  Management Parlance is

In the not so far back days , there was only Post Mortem of an event after its  completion successfully or otherwise . One such Post Mortem makes a rather interesting and intriguing reading .

HAIR , BAAL , ROMAM , MAYIRU , JOTTU has been REASON for the turning point in both our Epics Mahabharata and Ramayana .

On Duryodhans bidding Duchchadan  drags Draupadi by the  HAIR to be the center piece of everything wrong that takes  place in the Royal Court where Draupadi takes an oath to tie her dishevelled hair only after the defeat of the Kauravaas in the Mahabharat War .

HAIR  in Ramayan has a different take . This is after Sita and Rama s wedding . King Dasharatha notices a lot of Grey  Hair around his temples while looking at a mirror which is when he decides that he is getting on age and  should hand over the reign of the Kingdom to Lord Rama . Kaikeyi , Sita abduction and the great war where Raavan is defeated and Sita retrieved follow .

So folks , please do not take the hair in your Food or on the Collar Fold of your shirt lightly, beware of something-------- round the corner .

        RISK MANAGEMENT IS THE KEY

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
