There are various ways to gauge the reception you are likely to get in a house as you enter the same unannounced

"WELCOME" doormat is one , " GREETINGS LIKE PONGAL OR NEW YEAR " drawn on the Kolam or Rangoli is another way .

"Beware of Dog/Dogs" is a sure sign to put the fears into anyone plus the sign that " YOU ARE COVERED BY A SURVEILLANCE CAMERA" does tell you for sure that you may not necessarily be Welcome in their house .

The last one takes the Cake . The shrill voice of the lady of the house even as you knock on the door , asking her husband and lord of the house to  " paathu kadava thorongo , saniyan , ella vidamaana kosu thollai romba jaastiyaa irrukku , eppo ulla vandu uyurai vaangum nu theriyalai   (please be careful when you open the door , all sorts of  mosquitoes are ready to come and feast on our blood )    is sure to make you have second thoughts of knocking  on the door one more time . You are never sure of the lingering thought of wheather the MOSQUITOES being referred to by the lady of the house is for you or the deadly  Dengue causing insect which is now making its presence felt in almost all the houses .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Lunch packet Distribution done we were on our way and were before time at Lucknow .  Lucknow was a lot different from what I had imagined , airport was spotlessly clean as was their baggage handling services .  Mr Ashok saw to it that we were off on a Bus to Ayodhya in a flash . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
