How often are we now hearing the shout of the KODAI REPAIR MAN , THE MOBILE TAILOR WITH THE BRITISH MADE  SINGER SEWING MACHINE on his Bicycle Carrier or the CHANAI PIDIKKIRAVAN , the man who walks down the road in front of your house Sharpenning the Household Knives and Scissors which have become blunt due to usage . 

It was a surprise to hear the sound of KODAI REPAIRAA IRUKKAA for two reasons . For one, you hardly come across anyone who is in  this business now and for another the mix of Tamil and English in the shout " KODAI REPAIRAA IRRUKKAA "  Somehow seems to have a  unique catchy tune to it .

There were atleast 3 umbrellas which were in various stages of repair for a couple of years now and awaiting handwork of  the repair man . I am sure many among you would be wondering as to why one would even think of repairing an umbrella and waste time and money doing it . I must be candid enough to admit that my own Son or Daughter would have found a place for these umbrellas in the Trash Bin some 3 years back . 

Old habits die hard for old people . I was most happy to get the umbrellas repaired and back in use and in the bargain helped Marimuthu the repairman  make some money in these difficult times .

NOT SURE HOW LONG THEY WILL 
BE PLYING THEIR TRADE

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
