 TAMILNADU ASSEMBLY POLL 2021

Over the years , I have had occasions to be a responsible citizen and cast my vote at 3 diverse  places like Sion - Koliwada  in Mumbai ( What was  Bombay ) , Cashkeeper Thoppu  , close to Madura Coats Colony at Papanasam and now at Agasthiarpatty - Cambridge Higher Secondary School .

From the days of the Paper Ballot Papers dropped inside the  Ballot Boxes to the Electronic Voting Machines where one can verify if he or she has correctly cast his or her vote , the change has been phenomenal and the envy of the entire world .

Now to Tamilnadu Elections 2021 , the campaign itself has been different . Visual and Print  Media have had a major role to play as also the Social Media . Defacing the walls of Private Homes have become a thing of the past . It is more of a person to person even if  Digital .

These Covid times have been a huge dampner to the Candidates and to the Election Commission because of various restrictions placed from time to time .

The Election Commission needs to be complimented for the all around excellent arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the elections .

In these difficult days when the Second Wave of COVID  is on a surge , Checking the body Temperature of each voter , providing hand gloves , masks where required and maintaining a safe distance between the voters in the queue is no small task considering the sheer size of the numbers involved .

Thank you ELECTION COMMISSION,  WELL                                      DONE 

Thank you Candidates for providing non stop rivetting news and keeping us engaged for the last One and a Half Month or so .

AND LASTLY THANKS , TO BOTH THE ELECTION COMMISSION AND THE  CANDIDATES FOR NOT DOLING OUT THE MONEY TO BUY YOUR VOTES . NO MONEY CHANGED HANDS ATLEAST IN OUR AREA .

There are two ways as to how  one looks  at this new trend now .

Change of mind amongst the candidates regarding the efficacy of this excercise as people now tend to vote for the candidate of their choice and consider the money offered by the candidate as a freebie to splash around .

The common man is now more aware of his rights and refuses the money outright or better still pockets the money and votes for the candidate of his choice .

 THIS ITSELF IS IN MY OPINION  A WELCOME CHANGE FOR THE BETTER AND OF A BETTER FUTURE AHEAD  .
