 WHEN IS IT THE RIGHT TIME TO START        

                PACKING FOR A TRIP 

TRAIN AT 7 PM , READY  AT 10 .00 AM ITSELF 




Above is a post on the WhatsApp group which was forwarded  to me recently . I am just about knocking on the doors of the 70 s.

In the above picture the couple who have a planned journey from Agasthiarpatty to Chennai by catching  a train starting at 7.30 pm at Nellai . They seem to be all ready with all baggages packed  at 10.00 am itself .


I am probably getting on in age with a mindset probably very much different from those of this generation .

It would not be out of place here to recollect my own experience at Bangalore recently . With our home at MARATHAHALLI , we caught the bus at 2.15 pm for Majestic to catch a train for Nellai  starting from The City Station at 5.15 pm . The traffic congestion for which Bangalore is so famous led us to disembark at HAL bus stand and catch an auto and just about managed to board the train at Cantonement Station  .

 The pertinent question is whether too much is being made up of the Genaration Gap .


What was my father like in his heydays ?


What changes do I perceive in myself as a teenager , middle aged man and now as a decidedly elder person ?


This I guess is a nuanced feeling which changes as one gets on in age . What appears a bit too pro-active as a  teenager becomes a necessary course of action as one gets on in age .

However much , try as we might , ageing especially of the mind despite all pretenses to the contrary is a process which mankind has  failed to conquer  .

So , enjoy your youth while it lasts and while you are at it ,

Please also remember that each passing day  brings you one step closer to being AGED . Before you even know it , your position in the chair accross the table would have  changed .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
