                             AIRPORT LIKE LOUNGE  AT

                           MADURAI  RAILWAY STATION 



Due to a sudden change of plans to include a Visit to Nainar Kovil near Parmakudi which is the Kula Deiva Kovil from my Mother's side , I decided to forego the Madurai to Tirunelveli leg of the journey on the way back from our Scheduled Visit from Coimbatore to Tirunelveli .

Our plan was to get down at Madurai Junction at around 12.30 am and proceed to Nainar kovil by hiring a car at around 4.30 am . This meant that I would need to spend around 4 Hours in the platform of Madurai Junction Railway Station . This is where the Glass panneled Lounge on Platform Number 1 while passing through Madurai Station on many  Previous occasions came to mind. 

Before proceeding further , I must add that visiting Nainar Kovil has always been something special to me . In the recent past  On each  such occasion I have received Devine blessings where an important personal  event has been Successfully  completed .






The AC Lounge is more in line with the ones seen in Small Airports . The charge of 60 Rs per hour was a small price to pay for the comforts on offer .  Comfortable Sofa com reclining Chairs with very soft music till 1 am and dimmed lights with superbly clean Toilets with a Bathroom if one was so inclined made this place very comfortable..

We were at the NAGANATHASWAMY - SOUNDARYANAYAKI Temple at 5.45 am and were amongst the first visitors to the Temple on that Day which being a Mughoortam  Day was seeing the First Couple getting ready to Tie the Knot at this Holy Place and the crowd just beginning to Swell  .

After a good and Satisfying Darshan we returned back to Agasthiarpatty in the same car and were back home by 1pm .

    This facility now Railways have created in all major junctions and is a big success. Sometime you hardly get space to sit.
    Even waiting room for free are niw a days very good. Tirupati bis one example

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day 4 -705

           AYODHYA YAATRA - DAY 4 One’s visit to Varanasi , Kashi or The Benaras of the past is considered as meaningless without visiting the Ghats and taking a Holy Dip in Ganges or Ma Ganga .  2nd September was even more special as it is the day of SOMAVARA AMMAVSSAI . This day is considered special for offering Tarpanam and offering the same on the Banks of the Ganga is considered even more special .  We started at  5.00 AM and headed to the Hanuman Ghat . Lo and behold the river was flowing in all its might and as the name suggests flowing from South to the  North . This I am told is the only place in its long Journey where the Ganges proceeds in its long passage across the Hills and Plains in this direction .
