Near Six Decades of Togetherness


            NEAR SIX DECADES OF TRAVEL

                      AND TOGETHERNESS 

It is not often that you get to be in touch with a person for close to Six Decades . Even more strange is the fact that both your separate lives have crossed and  met each other at very important junctures during this period .

I did my Textile Technology while staying  at my Brother's place at Sion - Koliwada in Mumbai . 

We were put up in an Apartment Complex Called  The Puncha Pushpa Housing Society , an ensemble of 5 Similar - 4 Storey Apatments with a small playground in the middle . College and School Going  Youngsters of the Colony would happily spend their evening hours here , chatting or playing Cricket or Football .

One such friend , though younger by a few years was Krishnamurthy Venkateswaran or Murthy from now on . His Father and my Brother who was also my Guardian were colleagues at work in the Railways. 

Our Apartments  were just a few Blocks away from each other .

Interestingly our Native places in the Tirunelveli District , Pattamadai and Ravanasamudram were just 30 kms or so apart .

While I did my Textile Technology at Sasmira , he completed his Management Studies from the same Institute .

While I got Employed at Madura Coats in a far away place of  Ambasamudram , he used to spend quite sometime at the Selvam Lodge on the Madurai Road at Tirunelveli  Junction as a Sales Functionary We have spent time in each other's company on many occasions  both at VK Puram and Tirunelveli.

He was also one of the few from my Mumbai Circle of friends to attend my Wedding at Tuticorin . 

Years have rolled bye and we are now at  totally different corners of the World but we are in constant touch with each other thanks to the Social Media .

I share time both in India and Canada where both my Children are Settled .

He on the other hand is a person who is never shy of conquering new Frontiers .

He has acquired a New Zealand Citizenship but has set up  ,












THE SANITAS HOSPITAL MEDICS & DIAGNOSTICS IN TANZANIA as its CEO .

They deal in Consultations for the Cure of Prostate Cancer in Tanzania . As its CEO , he is acclaimed all over and is a winner of many Global Awards .

He has now registered a Wildlife Safari Company in Tanzania called THAWABU SAFARIS . In Swahili Language THAWABU means REWARDING  .

Not satisfied with all  these which include Running a Hospital of a Specialized Stream , Running a Safari Company , he is also into higher Studies , Doing his PhD at an  University in New Zealand .

All the very Best MURTHY , you surely are an inspiration to all . As you had pointed out in your Facebook post 

 " WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR AGES " 

Yet , you seem to surprise me each time you venture into something new .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
