30/4/23 COATS STAFF GET TOGETHER -
Madura Coats Staff have all been a diverse group . Be it the Spinning , Weaving , Processing or being in any other supporting but important functions , the common thread that ran among all the staff was working as a Group .This is distinctly different from working for one's own individual climb in the ladder of supremacy as is the case with less successful organizations.
A lot many may have worked for a few years in Madura Coats and gone on to make their mark in their subsequent places of work . A few have worked their entire career in this esteemed company . Service in Madura Coats because of its work practices and ethics have gone on to be recognized in their subsequent places of work .
The camaraderie and togetherness of the staff after their retirement in Coats or Elsewhere has meant that all have kept contact with each other thanks to the various Social Media Platforms .
It has been sometime since the idea of a Get Together of the Former and Retired Employees of Madura Coats Was first mooted . The problems associated with this were just too many .
1) Selecting a venue to conduct the meet was the very first .
BULLOCK CART WORKERS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ( BWDA ) RESORT NEAR OLD COURTALLAM FALLS WAS FINALLY ARRIVED AT AS THE VENUE FOR THE MEET
2) Various Departments being involved, finding suitable hands to head each Section and contact the staff and ensure their presence was an onerous task.
V BALASUBRAMANIAN , AP AYYAPPAN , SANKARABAGAM , VELPANDIAN WERE THE PERSONS WHO VOLUNTEERED TO DO THIS THANKLESS JOB , THE FIRST THREE ARE WELL INTO THEIR SEVENTIES , WHILE THE BABY OF THE LOT VELPANDIAN IS AT 63 OR THEREABOUTS.
VBS HAS HAD HIS HAND IN A SLING FOR SOMETIME AFTER A SLIP AND AN ACCIDENTAL FALL
APA HAS BEEN HAVING SOME HEALTH ISSUES
SB HAS HAD A RECENT CALAMITY IN HIS FAMILY
VP IS RECOVERING FROM A MAJOR AILMENT
3 ) Selecting a day most suitable for the meet .
SUNDAY 30 TH APRIL 2023 WAS ARRIVED AT AS THE CHOSEN DATE . THE NEXT DAY BEING MAY DAY AND A HOLIDAY WAS AN APT SELECTION
4 ) BWDA being on a diversion and on the side road from both Mathalampaarai Junction or Courtallam Main Falls , Transport for those arriving by Train or Bus Had to be arranged .
ARRANGEMENTS BY A VAN WAS MADE TO TRANSPORT ALL THE GUESTS ARRIVING BY TRAIN AND BUS .
5 ) With Guests at almost 100 + , Catering Arrangements with NV needed to be arranged . Serving of this without a hazzle was also an issue .
VBS TOOK UPON HIMSELF THIS HUGE TASK AND HIS METICULOUS PLANNING NEEDS TO BE APPRECIATED . BREAKFAST , LUNCH AND EVENING TEA WITH BISCUITS AND PAAL KOVA NEEDS SPECIAL MENTION
6 ) Keeping the guests occupied with Games , Talkshows , Singing Film Songs etc
JAPAN BALU AND RANI MADAMS CONDUCT OF THE TAMBOLA AS ALSO THE SINGING BY VBS AND VICTOR WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED BY ALL . RANI SUGANTHIAH MADAM PRESENTING THE EVER POPULAR KAY SARAH SARAH WAS EVEN MORE SPECIAL .
STC SUDHAKAR'S QUESTION ANSWER SESSION WITH PRIZES TO THE WINNER WAS ONE BIG SURPRISE AS WAS HIS SPONSORING A MEMENTO TO MR S DORAISWAMY SIR AS THE SENIORMOST PERSON ATTENDING THE MEET .
COTHAI MARIAPPAN ( The up and Rising Star of the BJP in Souhern Business Circles ) speech on our duty as responsible citizens to excercise our franchise irrespective of PARTY affiliation was appreciated by one and all as was his call to LIVE AND ENJOY the PRESENT IN A HAPPY MANNER .
All in all , a very memorable day spent in the midst of people and colleagues with whom you have shared the best years of your life .
