     VKP SIVANTHIAPPAR 8 TH DAY FUNCTION                                  EVE OF TEMPLE CAR FESTIVAL 




Certain events or happenings are very hard to explain .I have been around this place for almost half a century now . 28 Years inside the Madura Coats Mill colony and near 22 years at Agasthiarpatty. 

Vishu or Tamil New year is celebrated with all the fanfare each year . Colony Club always had a special programme on this day .  A visit to the Papanasam Temple was also a must on this day .


The SIVANTHIAPPAR Temple 8 th day function is held in all reverence and devotion  . PATCHAI SAATHY , VELLAI SAATHY and ULAA are a special feature on this day . The next day is TEMPLE CAR FESTIVAL on the eve of the TAMIL NEW YEAR .



As I had pointed earlier , certain occurrences are hard to explain   . I do not remember being able to witness this on more than 2 or 3 occasions. 




I must add that I was witness to what I had missed all these years today  . Really spectacular.  Glad that I could be a part of the Celebrations this year .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
