 VISIT TO THE ENTERTAINMENT            CAPITAL OF THE WORLD                       UNIVERSAL STUDIOS                                 HOLLYWOOD 







The last place of visit planned by us for our US visit was THE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD , the Entertainment Capital of the World . We had booked a Cab for our  travel from Extended Stay America , our place of Stay at Forrest Hill to the Universal Studios . This  was an Hour away drive in the midst of heavy traffic to cover a distance of 50 Miles or 80 Kms as we are more used to saying in our part of the World .  The Cab Driver was an ageing and grey Parsi man who had migrated some 30 years back from the present day Mumbai . He was thrilled that I could converse with him in Gujarathi. In fact he was so thrilled that  he even offered  to pick us up for our return trip at around  10 pm in the night .  Knowing an Extra  Indian  Language has its own advantages even in a Foreign Land  .

NOT SURE IF VIDIALS WOULD AGREE WITH THIS THOUGH 

The Ticket  Charges to Visit the STUDIOS  is very high at 139 $ per head and is spread over 2 days .
One has to be very time conscious to be able to see all the places within a  day .
We covered all the must see places which included , 

HARRY POTTER WORLD
FAST AND FURIOUS RIDE
SIMPSONS RIDE
TRANSFORMER RIDE
VISIT TO THE SPECIAL EFFECT STUDIO
SUBMARINE  VIEWING OF UNDERSEA LIFE 

The  Queue is long at each of these places and one does have to wait  atleast 30 to 45 Mts for their turn .

The last was the best , THE STUDIO TRAM RIDE WITH THE 3 D glasses . We were taken around the replicas of the places where the greatest of the Hollywood Movie Blockbusters were  made which included PSYCHO ,  JAWS , THE BIRD AND KING KONG . SCENES OF A FLOOD , VOLCANO AND THUNDERSTORM WHICH TAKE PLACE LIVE IN OUR PRESENCE IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION .

THE 3D RIDE INTO THE JURAISSIC PARK JUNGLE WITH THE DINOSAURS BREATHING ON TO YOUR FACE AND THE FLOWING WATER INSIDE THE TRAM CAR IS AN EXPERIENCE IN ITSELF.

We all had a great time and  especially Aarna our Granddaughter.  She was not afraid to be a part of any of the many thrilling and breadth catching rides . 
Even Mami had a very nice time and seemed to enjoy the  experience except for a minor fall at the HARRY POTTER ride . 

As promised the Parsi Bavaji was there to pick us back for our return trip to The Extended Stay America .

So much for our  VISIT TO THE US.  We were back at Kamesh/Anoo s place at Regina , Canada  the next day .

VAIKOM VISIT- IN GODS OWN COUNTRY - 686

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning . Nothing could be better ,  We made the Reservations for both the Up  and Down Jorneys on the 11 th and 13 th June with our  return slated from Ernakulam Town as we planned to visit the Chottanikara Bhaghavati Amman Temple on the 13 th mornin

On Northern Most Point Thus Far - 604

Setting Foot on the  Northern Most  Point Thus Far Travelled by Me . Coming as this does within 10 days of my arrival in Canada, our trip to Waskesiu was unique in more ways than one . Waskesiu which is about 450 Kms from Regina and is at the Northern Most point in the Saskatchewan Province of Canada .  As with most other regions , this place is unique for ,  Literally 100 s of waterfronts and beaches . Shrouded by tall trees all around where the Suns Rays rarely reach the ground level directly and unhindered . Home to Bear , Deer and Elf . We were lucky to spot all the three during our trip on Road . There are Beautiful Resorts all around where visitors from all  across Canada , spend Time and Money in huge numbers to savor the Natural Beauty which is in abundance here . During Summer Months the Weather in these areas are on the lines of Kodaikanal or Uthagamandalam at its coldest .
