     FEAR IS THE KEY - COVID 19 


Sorry , this has nothing to do with the ALISTAIR MACLEAN'S BESTSELLING NOVEL OF A FEW YEARS BACK , 

This is to do with my own experience during the Pandemic days of 2019 .

My recent experience of having to make purchases of some home remedies like SANITIZER , A STRIP OF TABLETS TO ALLEVIATE HEADACHE PLUS A TUBE OF MOSQUITO REPELLENT at one of the prominent pharmacy at Dasarathapuram in the city of Chennai ,  made interesting reading . My work for the day also included drawing some money from an  ATM KIOSK which fortunately was almost very next to the pharmacy. 

With repeated instructions from my better half and others in the family to be vary and maintain a safe distance and also be particularly careful not to venture any closer than a minimum of 3 meters from any other living creature , human or otherwise.

The Cloth Bandana , Safety Mask and an extra protection Scarf over the nose and tied at the back of the neck plus the plastic hand gloves made a very docile and peace loving man like me look more like the henchman of yesteryear screen villains of our movies . Many of my one time favourite  JAISHANKAR Movie came to mind .

With the steadfast resolve to adhere to all the instructions given , i returned home satisfied at the job done well but  only to realize that I had in all my eagerness left the package from the pharmacy at the mantel inside the ATM KIOSK .

All this happened at around 10.00 in the morning and I got reconciled to the fact that it would be almost a futile exercise to go back to the ATM KIOSK to retrieve the package .

The ladies of the house had to make some purchases around the same area around 5.00 pm the same evening and surprise of surprises , the package was sitting pretty at the very same place where I had so carelessly left it .

Now , the big question is ,

WHETHER ALL THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY HAD BECOME GOOD SAMARITANS ALL OF A SUDDEN

OR

COVID - 19 HAD INSTILLED THE FEAR OF DEATH IN TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND TO REFRAIN FROM TOUCHING ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS WAS INDEED A BIG HELP .

FEAR DEFINITELY IS THE KEY !!

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning . Nothing could be better ,  We made the Reservations for both the Up  and Down Jorneys on the 11 th and 13 th June with our  return slated from Ernakulam Town as we planned to visit the Chottanikara Bhaghavati Amman Temple on the 13 th mornin

On Northern Most Point Thus Far - 604

Setting Foot on the  Northern Most  Point Thus Far Travelled by Me . Coming as this does within 10 days of my arrival in Canada, our trip to Waskesiu was unique in more ways than one . Waskesiu which is about 450 Kms from Regina and is at the Northern Most point in the Saskatchewan Province of Canada .  As with most other regions , this place is unique for ,  Literally 100 s of waterfronts and beaches . Shrouded by tall trees all around where the Suns Rays rarely reach the ground level directly and unhindered . Home to Bear , Deer and Elf . We were lucky to spot all the three during our trip on Road . There are Beautiful Resorts all around where visitors from all  across Canada , spend Time and Money in huge numbers to savor the Natural Beauty which is in abundance here . During Summer Months the Weather in these areas are on the lines of Kodaikanal or Uthagamandalam at its coldest .
