                    MATCH 

The Lead up to the World Cup ODI Match between INDIA AND NEW ZEALAND had all the things going for a Spectacular Match . 

India with Nine Staraight and Convincing wins at the League Stage were the downright favourites to win the Match .

I am a  Keen Follower of Cricket in all its 3 Formats . Being in Canada  I was awake at 1.45 AM itself to watch the Match from the Toss-Up  stage itself . The near 12  Hour time difference was just a small matter which was not going to come in the way of me Watching the Match .

Winning the Toss and opting to Bat first was almost half the Battle won with Our Batsmen in their current form .

As has been the norm throughout the tournament so far,  Rohit and Gill provided the finest start with 81 for no loss at the end of the First Power Play . 

Shubman Gills 80 Not Out was a masterclass despite his Cramps .

The much anticipated 50 th ODI Century by Virat Kohli went on to anoint him as not only  KING KOHLI  BUT EMPEROR KOHLI . That he went past Sachin Tendulkar , the GOD of Cricket was worth all the trouble taken .



The STUPENDOUS show by Shreyas Iyer and his SIX hitting ability came to the fore with his 70 Ball Century .




RRR or RAHUL ROLLS ROYCE as our Krishnamachari Shrikanth is fond of calling ,  Lokesh Rahul was all class in his quick fire innings . India went on to amass a mammoth 397 runs which left the New Zealanders with the task of scoring near  8 Runs per over in their stipulated 50 overs. 

That they lost 2 Wickets in the First Power Play was a bad start and hurt them in big measure , considering that they were chasing a huge total .

 Daryl Mitchell Heroic Century and the effort by Kane Williamson and Glen Phillips were not enough to see the New Zealanders through.  

Shami once again proved his might with the ball and went on to capture 7 Wickets for the loss of just 57 runs in his 9.5 overs . 4 Catches by Rahul and 3 by Jadeja made this an all around performance by TEAM INDIA .



A Truly memorable Match . Hope India do equally well in the Final  and go on to Win the coveted Tropy on Sunday .

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning . On Northern Most Point Thus Far - 604

Setting Foot on the  Northern Most  Point Thus Far Travelled by Me . Coming as this does within 10 days of my arrival in Canada, our trip to Waskesiu was unique in more ways than one . Waskesiu which is about 450 Kms from Regina and is at the Northern Most point in the Saskatchewan Province of Canada .  As with most other regions , this place is unique for ,  Literally 100 s of waterfronts and beaches . Shrouded by tall trees all around where the Suns Rays rarely reach the ground level directly and unhindered . Home to Bear , Deer and Elf . We were lucky to spot all the three during our trip on Road . There are Beautiful Resorts all around where visitors from all  across Canada , spend Time and Money in huge numbers to savor the Natural Beauty which is in abundance here . During Summer Months the Weather in these areas are on the lines of Kodaikanal or Uthagamandalam at its coldest .
