Arya 10Th Birthday -668

         GRANDSON ARYA'S 10 TH BIRTHDAY 





Birthdays are always special and for my Grandson Arya this one was even more special as it was his 10th Birthday which in itself  is a Landmark and  the First of the many more ones to come in Future .

The Birthday Celebration arranged at Golden Mile  Bowling Lane  was unique in more ways than one .

For one , the Weather at Regina was at just -4 Degrees and sans any Snowing which was  in direct contrast to the day exactly 10 years back and the day Arya was born when the temperature was a staggering  -47 Degrees and the whole city of Regina Covered in a white Sheet of snow .

The 18 Kids Gathered had a splendid time in the one hour that they had and trying their skill at the Bowling Alley which is not to mention with some of the Parents who too joined in trying their long hitherto hidden Skills .

The Pop Corn , Soft Drinks and the Pizza which is always a favorite with the Kids was a special draw , as was the Delectable BIRTHDAY CAKE .

A word must be added for the support staff who took care of the cleanliness of the place . One such Gentleman drew special attention as he gently refused the Cake on offer and added that he was trying his best to shed some Kgs of his excessive weight and when I wished him the Best of Luck in his efforts , his quote left me thinking .

" IT IS BETTER TO BE CHUBBY AND CHEERFUL

                RATHER THAN BEING 

                 SKINNY AND SULKING  " 

ARYA HAD A GREAT TIME AND WE AS HIS GRANDPARENTS WISHING THE VERY BEST.

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
