    50 Years On , July 4th Will                          Always Be Special   

                                



  
Certain Dates remain etched in memory for very specific reasons and July the 4th is one such Date .

Americans Celebrate their Independence Day on this day . My close relatives from both my parents  side have made it their home there . Best wishes to all of them .

My Daughter Anoobala and Kamesh got married on this day in the year 2004  at the AVRMV KALYANA MANDAPAM , AMBASAMUDRAM . It was and it still is by far one of the most well Attended , Talked About , Well Organized and Enjoyed Weddings in and around this  place . Many who attended the Wedding still recall the lovely and happy times they had during the function.

I leave it to you to judge as to who Lost or Gained His or Her Independence on this day post the Wedding !! American Independence not withstanding .

July 4 th 1974 : This was the day when I joined the MADURA COATS LTD as an Apprentice in its Weaving Dept at a then Princely Stipend of Rs 400 Per Month at Madurai and was  transferred to Ambasamudram exactly a month later  .There were nearly 30 others who joined along with me on this date  . I have worked and retired from this company and its associates  after serving for nearly 40 years in various capacities , have got married and raised successful children who are now doing well and settled abroad . I myself have been fortunate to have Travelled to many places in India and Abroad and I am now a Canadian Permanent Resident .
T Subramaniam , M Subramaniam , G Siva Subramaniam , T Thangamani , MA Perumal Raja , Chandrashekara Raja , P Mukundan ,
KN Gopal , Marimuthu , Kalyanaraman , Jayaprakash , Surandai Mariappan , Venkatachalam are names of persons who joined along with me and many of them are still in contact with me on the Social Media Platforms. 

Kadayam Subramaniam whose Birthday also happens to be on this day has always been a close companion all these 50  years . Both hail from neighboring villages of Ravanasamudram and Kadayam . We are now for the last so many years neighbors at our houses in Agasthiarpatty.

       THIS DAY JULY THE 4 TH         WILL ALWAYS 
                            REMAIN SPECIAL

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Lunch packet Distribution done we were on our way and were before time at Lucknow .  Lucknow was a lot different from what I had imagined , airport was spotlessly clean as was their baggage handling services .  Mr Ashok saw to it that we were off on a Bus to Ayodhya in a flash . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . The Sastrigal performed the Ritual which is an almost second time Marriage where vows are taken to lead a life in all happiness and begging forgiveness for the sins committed thus far .        ,       RAM JAN

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning . Nothing could be better ,  We made the Reservations for both the Up  and Down Jorneys on the 11 th and 13 th June with our  return slated from Ernakulam Town as we planned to visit the Chottanikara Bhaghavati Amman Temple on the 13 th mornin
