          HELPLINE NUMBERS ON NHAI 




All of us I am sure must have had occasions to make use of the National Highways during their travel accross various parts of the COUNTRY . THE GOLDEN QUADRILATERAL of the NHAI has been a boon for a fast and easy travel to make long distance travel as comfortable as possible  

Many of  us I am sure would have come accross display boards at almost every alternate Kilometer with the prominent display of a NHAI CONTACT MOBILE HELPLINE NUMBER ON A POST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DIVIDER  . I must admit that I have so far  been far too lazy to note down these numbers or to even  ponder on its very purpose. 

On my very recent travel experience from Chennai to Ambasamudram on the NHAI , I noticed the Helpline Number from Tiruchy to Madurai section  was 8925400984 and on the Madurai to Nellai stretch it was mentioned as 8883216000 .

Now , this set me thinking as to why would the NHAI spend Money and Effort to display the Contact Helpline Numbers Every Alternate Kilometer or thereabouts .

A peep into the NHAI website made very interesting reading . These Helpline Numbers could be contacted in case of a - 

FLAT TYRE OF THE VEHICLE , MECHANICAL FAILURE , MEDICAL EMERGENCIES , REPORTING ACCIDENTS , POLICE HELP IF REQUIRED TO REPORT ANY UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY , RECHARGE OF YOUR FASTTAG ACCOUNT .

So Folks , please do take  note of the MOBILE NUMBER THE NEXT TIME YOU ARE ON THE NHAI,  THESE HELPLINE NUMBERS MAY PROVE TO BE VERY HANDY AND A SURE BOON IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY . IT IS ALWAYS SMART TO BE PROACTIVE . NO POINT IN REPENTING AT A LATER  STAGE .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
