We Indians have a special connect with Movies or Films . For those above 50 or so , this was the only source of Entertainment back in those days .  This has been a Two way growth ,  we have Grown with the Films and the Films and it's Industry  have grown because of us .

Jewel Thief Cap of Dev Anand , Short and Long Blue or White Kurta over a normal Black Trouser by Rajesh Khanna or the Famous Milk White Starched Shirt with Large Black Buttons and a shawl thrown over the shoulder of Rajkumar - Waqt  times or the Double Breasted Suits of Amitabh Bachchan in many of his  movies are all in our memory .

The Female stars had a legion of followers. Sadhana Cut Hairstyle has come to stay as a Password in Hairdressing Parlance  . Asha Parekh in body clinging Churidar - Kameez which gave hardly any room for imagination of  the voluptuous figure wearing these chick dresses had a huge following .

Some of the super Dialogues by the Yesteryear stars still keep ringing in one's ears ,

Babu Moshai , Zindagi Badi Honi Chaahiye , Lambi Nahee

Aapke Paanv Dekhe , Bahut Khubsoorat Hain, Inhe Zameen Par Mat Rakhiyega , Maile Ho Jaayenge ,

आपके पांव देखे , बहुत खूबसूरत हैं , इन्हें ज़मीन पर मत रखियेगा , मैले हो जाएंगे , 

Down South also , it has also been a similar story , Gemini Ganesan , Sivaji and MGR have all been Trend Setters , only difference was the preference for more Garish colours . Green Trousers with a Red or Yellow Shirt was par for the course . 

Kamalahasan brought about a healthy change to this trend . His printed Silk Shirts were a sure hit with all .

Dialogues of Sivaji in Paasa Malar , Veera Pandya Kattabomman , Karnan to name just a few are all time favorites for many .

Fashion Houses and Designers have all had a field day in creating various outfits for these Cine Stars .

Kamalahasan singing Aatukutty Muttai Ittu clad only in his Loin Cloth or Langotti with Sridevi for Company in 16 Vayadhinilay has set me thinking .

Just imagine a present day Chappani and Mayilu in a similar song sequence .

The Fashion Houses and Designers must have  been left wondering of as to ,  how to  go about the choice of the  Printed Silk Material to be used and the choice of its Colour for the Langotti for today's Kamalahasan singing a song to his beloved clad in a by now famous Langotti .

Thank God , this  fashion never caught up with the youth .

Difficult to even imagine the Scenario!!!
