            PANGUNI UTTIRAM - 2025       

I am in TORONTO on this Auspicious day of PANGUNI UTTIRAM and as has been our practice of visiting a Sastha Temple each year, we visited the Sastha Temple at Scarborough here .

PANGUNI UTTIRAM commemorates the Celestial  Weddings of SHIVA AND PARVATHY ; RAMA AND SITA , MURUGA ( KARTHIKEYA ) AND DEVASENA and the Manifestation of Ayyappa .

The Iyyappan Temple at Scarborough is in a Prime Locality and Extremely well maintained . The Patronage is also very high because of the Large Tamil Speaking Indian and Sri Lankan Devotees . As can be seen in the Map , the place also has many other Hindu Temples in close proximity.

Panguni Uttiram is very special , I could be wrong but it does appear to be something extra special for the people of the Southern Districts . On this day it is considered particularly auspicious to visit your Family Deities or KULA DAIVA KOVIL . Tirunelveli , Tenkasi and Tuticorin Districts have announced an official Holiday on this day the 5 th Of April This Year .

SASTHA being our family Deity we have been visiting the PALA ADI SASTHA TEMPLE at Chinna Sankarankovil,  very near our house at Agasthiarpatty for the last so many years now .

This day also happened to be the Teppam Festival of Brahmadesam KAILASANATHAR AND BRAHANNAYAKI AMMAN Temple . 

We were fortunate to visit both and  seek the DEVINE BLESSINGS at both these places yesterday.

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . The Krishna Temple ; Palace of Gold ; Rose Garden ; Goshala ; Peacock Mount is very Scenic ; People from all over the World Visit this place in large numbers and stay here for a few days for enchantment and to be with  MOTHER NATURE at its very Best .  The travel time involved was just 60 Minutes of Extra Time from our place of stay but the last 20 Minutes of travel involved coveri...

NAVARATHRI GOLU 2025 - AJAX - 795

                    NAVARATHRI 2025   --  AJAX  We are at my Son and Daughter In Law’s place at Ajax in Canada this year for the Navarathri Festival . It is  a festival which has the Ladies garnering all the limelight during the Nine Day Festival with THE GOLU as the highlight . The men in the house have to get down the Cartons from the attic with the neatly packed idols of last year stored there with utmost care . Cleaning and dusting the same takes some doing . Getting the 5 or 7 Deck GOLU PADI is a big task in itself . Haarish , my son is good with his hands which includes the Carpentry work also .
