            Toronto to Trivandrum Travel 

Air Travel has its own Fascination and Intrigues . Your age profile defines that to a large extent . We had booked our Tickets for our Return journey to India from Canada some 7 Months back by the Emirates Airlines .

The First leg of the journey was from Toronto to Dubai by EK242 . This is by the Wide Body AIRBUS A380-800 Aircraft in 2 Decks with a Capacity of 525 Passengers for a flight duration of close to 13 Hours . Our flight schedule was at 2.30 PM on the 10 th of May .

The Pehalgam Incident and the Subsequent skirmishes in the Border with a Full War likely to break out at any time had us at our very edge. News had already started circulating about the cancellation of many flights to and from India .

The News on 7th May with the official Launch  of OPERATION SINDOOR made us even more nervous .

Fortunately for us nothing of that sort happened as our Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram Flight EK 522 flew over the Arabian Sea and nowhere near the place of action near the Border .

What this meant was that the Toronto to Dubai which is packed to Capacity during most times  saw a drop in Patronage as many flying to Northern Destinations from Dubai to India  had Cancelled their Tickets .

Close to 30 % of the seats were vacant and we could make use of the additional leg space and infact make use of the 2 Seats and sleep for a while . IT was almost ECONOMY + BUSINESS CLASS rolled in to one .

The 10 Hour Transit at Dubai was very Convenient . 










Flight EK 522 from Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram with a flying time of 4 hours was anything but Convenient. This Boeing 777- 300 with a Capacity of 500 Passengers was packed to the Core . The often heard  comment of Dubai being an  extension of the State of Kerala did make sense , The seats allotted to us next to the Emergency Exit had more leg space but keeping all your paraphernalia like BLANKETS  , HEADPHONE ,WATERBOTTLE . PASSPORT POUCH , ONBOARD ENTERTAINMENT TV SCREEN AND PLACING THE FOOD TRAY IN THE LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE was a big problem . 

We endured all that and reached TVD as scheduled at 3.00 AM . I had arranged with Selvam Cabs at Agasthiarpatty for a Cab and we reached Home at 8,00 AM on the 12 th ,

JET LAG SEEMS A BIG BIG PROBLEM 

The News has now started to Trickle in that a Pause / Ceasefire of some sort has now been announced.

In any case ;

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . The Krishna Temple ; Palace of Gold ; Rose Garden ; Goshala ; Peacock Mount is very Scenic ; People from all over the World Visit this place in large numbers and stay here for a few days for enchantment and to be with  MOTHER NATURE at its very Best .  The travel time involved was just 60 Minutes of Extra Time from our place of stay but the last 20 Minutes of travel involved coveri...

Eight Hours of Anxiety - 758

      REGINA TO TORONTO VIA WINNIPEG !! Over the years , with my Daughter and Son stationed at Regina and Toronto in Canada , I have made a number of Trips by Air both ways from and to this place . The travel between these two places which is almost 2700 kms has a travel time of close to 3 Hours .  More often than not , the total  6  Hour  Time required from start to finish  is more of a joke and it usually takes almost double the time .Weather conditions , Snowing , Mechanical Repairs and surprisingly WANT OF PILOTS have all been the reasons for a delay during my previous visits . Our trip from Regina to Toronto was different this time . AIR CANADA FLIGHT AC 1114 SURPRISINGLY started on Schedule at 2.50 pm . Taxiing from the Bay to the start of the Runway was smooth .
