First School Day - 786

     FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR AKSHATHA 






Except for stories being retold by our Parents  of our own FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL and the tantrums we ourselves created , not many I am sure will recollect the same .

The Picture though of our own Children's  their first day at School will be much more clearer. Anoobala , my Daughter's Kindergarten Vikaasa  School was almost opposite our House in Madura Coats Colony in VKPuram before it got shifted to the EWART HOUSE , opposite the Ambasamudram Railway Station . ( Ewart House by the way was my own place of Residence before We moved  into the Colony ) . Lot of cajoling,  sweet words and Sweetmeats later , we were able to make our Daughter adjust to her new School .

My Son HAARISH joining the Vikaasa School at Ambasamudram ,  was a lot different as we had to see him off at the School Bus Starting Opposite the then TAMBARABARANI CLUB . He would be amongst the first to leave our house and almost always be the last to board the bus , busy as he was with the antics with his friends .

Today however was the First Day of School for my Granddaughter Akshatha at Ajax in Canada . She had no problems and was most eagerly looking forward to her First Day of School . She entered the School in Great Spirit with a warm Hug and wishing us Goodbye .

The day also coincided with the First Day in Standard VII for my Grandson who was eager to meet all his Classmates after  the long  Summer Break .



From Kharagpur in West Bengal to VK Puram / Ambasamudram  in Tamilnadu to Ajax/ Toronto in Canada ; First Day in School has been a memorable Journey

  NEW SCHOOL ADMISSION CANADA 2025 

ONE : In the Morning : 

My Granddaughter was getting admitted in a School at Ajax in Canada in the Kindergarten Class . Officially the session was to  start only in the Month of September . Parents and Grandparents were taken for a look around of  the School and the Facilities provided . 







The facilities provided were simply amazing . Display of what was to be sent and what not to be sent in the School Bag especially with special care for the eatables was really helpful to the first time Parents sending their wards to school. 

The Photo Shoot of the kids entering the School for the first time and keeping it as a treasured memento for later years was well thought out . 

TWO : Late Afternoon : 

SENIOR SCHOOL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 

Science Exhibition by Students of High School who had created hand crafted miniatures of futuristic cities . My Grandson and his group of 7 th Standard Students had Painstakingly created one such Exhibit. Their explanation of the various features left all of us in awe . Their attention to detail was amazing.

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . The Krishna Temple ; Palace of Gold ; Rose Garden ; Goshala ; Peacock Mount is very Scenic ; People from all over the World Visit this place in large numbers and stay here for a few days for enchantment and to be with  MOTHER NATURE at its very Best .  The travel time involved was just 60 Minutes of Extra Time from our place of stay but the last 20 Minutes of travel involved coveri...

Eight Hours of Anxiety - 758

      REGINA TO TORONTO VIA WINNIPEG !! Over the years , with my Daughter and Son stationed at Regina and Toronto in Canada , I have made a number of Trips by Air both ways from and to this place . The travel between these two places which is almost 2700 kms has a travel time of close to 3 Hours .  More often than not , the total  6  Hour  Time required from start to finish  is more of a joke and it usually takes almost double the time .Weather conditions , Snowing , Mechanical Repairs and surprisingly WANT OF PILOTS have all been the reasons for a delay during my previous visits . Our trip from Regina to Toronto was different this time . AIR CANADA FLIGHT AC 1114 SURPRISINGLY started on Schedule at 2.50 pm . Taxiing from the Bay to the start of the Runway was smooth .
