T 20 WORLD CUP WINNER
PROUD MOMENT FOR THE NATION
India's journey in the Current ICC WORLD CUP T 20 Champion has been nothing short of Phenomenal . To end up losing only one Match from the League Stage till the Final spoke volumes of their intent .
Batting was excellent , someone or the other took up the Gauntlet when it mattered the most . Sanju Samson joining the team after being picked up only during the business end of the Championship made a huge difference which ended up in he being chosen as the Player of the Tournament and the chief architect of our fortunes . Contributions by Ishan Kishan , Hardik Pandya , Shivam Dubey , Tilak Verma and to a smaller but useful contributions by SKY , Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma in the final all went on to make the Final almost a one sided contest.
The performance of the bowlers was equally astounding. Jasprit Burmah being simply outstanding and getting a Wicket for his Captain each time he was asked to bowl . Sanju Samson mentioning during the Semi Final against England that the Player of the Match should have actually gone to Jasprit Burmah instead for his outstanding bowling of the end overs and remarking that HE IS THE BEST BOWLER OF THE GENERATION , seemed to be a very fitting comment .
Mystery Bowler Varun Chakraverty ended up as the bowler of the Tournament with the highest number of scalps to his name . Arshadeep Singh , Hardik Pandya , Axar Patel were equally menacing .
Fielding however was outstanding at times and left a lot to be desired at a few places . Axar Patel , Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma stood out with their efforts on the field as also Rinku Singh if only as a substitute .
All this banter of no ICC TROPHY having been Won at home or that no team has won the Title for the Second time Running has been proved wrong .

Tailpiece : - This is one more Title which India has Won when I am away from India and in Canada . I would suggest the BCCI sponsor my Visit to Canada or some such place next time an ICC event takes place .

The World Cup Women's ODI Match between India and South Africa was scheduled to be played at the Navi Mumbai DY Patil Stadium at 3.00 PM IST ON Sunday the 2nd Nov 2025 .
I must admit that I am a keen Cricket Enthusiast and watch all India Related Matches . Being now in Canada with my Son I have Followed and have watched all India Related Matches from here in CANADA . The start so far has been at 5.30 AM LOCAL TORONTO TIME .
To increase daylight hours ; it is a standard practice in these parts and in most of North America to turn back the clock by ONE HOUR ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF EACH YEAR IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER WHICH HAPPENS TO BE TODAY . SO THE SCHEDULED TIME FOR THE START OF THE MATCH WAS AT 4.30 AM WHICH IS ONE HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL TORONTO TIME OF 5.30 AM .
( FOR THOSE WHO ARE CURIOUS , IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT THE CLOCK IS ADVANCED BY ONE HOUR AS SUMMER SETS IN END MARCH )
The Semi Final Match between India and Australia which was a Jamima Masterclass and which India had Won earlier ignited interest amongst all to Watch the Final .
I was awake at 4.00 AM itself , only to learn that the start had been delayed due to rains at Navi Mumbai .
The India Men's T20 Match against Australia which was being played at Hobart and was in progress then , came in very handy .
Arshdeep Singh with the Ball and Washington Sunder with the Bat were exceptional and we won the Match rather comfortably .
There was a delayed start due to the rains and clean up operations to the World Cup Final at Navi Mumbai . Shefali Verma ; Smriti Mandhaana ; Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh played the innings of their Lifetime to post a total of 298 runs .
The reply by South Africa was equally spirited . Their captain Laura Volvaardt who compiled another Century fell short of Partners and were short by 52 runs . The Indian Women Created History to become the World Champions . The all around performance of the whole team and the Two All Rounders Shefali Verma and Deepti Sharma in particular stole the show in the Final . This is in no way to belittle the performance of others who were instrumental in India Reaching the Final First and the Winning the Title .
WELL-DONE TEAM INDIA , YOU MAKE US ALL PROUD BECAUSE OF YOUR EXPLOITS .

ASIA CUP FINAL IND VS PAKISTAN 2025
I am a big and ardent Cricket follower and watch all India related Matches with very keen interest.
The Asia Cup Matches in Dubai had me watching all the matches ; the key one being with our Arch Rivals PAKISTAN which was getting on to everyone's nerves . The Antics of t0he Pakistanis with both their infield and off field activities ; Shahibzada Farhan ; Harris Rouf and Abrar Ahmad to name just three and their Cabinet Minister and Chief of Asian Cricket Council Mohsin Naqvi left a very bad precedent.
Sept 29 2025 was the day of the much anticipated and eagerly waited clash between India and Pakistan at the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL STADIUM Slated at 10.30 AM local time here in Ajax ; Canada .
We had an important appointment for lunch on that day at Brampton some 80 Kms away .
By the time we left our house at Ajax, Pakistan was comfortably placed at 112 for 2 at the end of 12.5 overs . Things were beginning to look ominous for India with a target in excess of 200 looking more than a possibility.
The connection with the onboard TV in the Car and connected via HDMI with the Laptop and Mobile Phone was masterminded by my 7 th Standard Grandson Adhvay .
Wickets were falling like 9 pins , the last 7 players had scores which reminded one of someone's Mobile Number 081600617 , and Pakistan was all out for a measley 146 .
By the time we reached our appointed place at Brampton India also was in deep Trouble with our mainstays Abhishek Sharma , Shubman Gill and Skipper Suryakumar Yadav back in the hut .
Our much touted Bench strength held their nerves and showcased their class .
TILAK VARMA GARU IN THE COMPANY OF CHETTAN SANJU SAMSON AND SIXER SHIVAM DUBEY COMBINED TO POST SIGNIFICANT PARTNERSHIPS AND WON A WELL DESERVED VICTORY FOR INDIA .
A TRULY MEMORABLE MATCH ; WELL DONE TEAM INDIA . THAT THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE TROPHY FROM MOHSIN NAQVI WAS THE REAL ICING ON THE CAKE .

UNCONFIRMED REPORTS SUGGEST THE SIGHTING OF A MAN VIA HIGH RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGING WHICH SHOWED A VERY TIRED AND WEATHER BEATEN MAN WHO BORE A STRIKING RESEMBLANCE TO A PAKISTANI WHO WENT BY THE NAME OF MOHSIN NAQVI CLUTCHING ON TO A SHINY PIECE OF METALWARE WITH ONLY A HALF EMPTY BOTTLE OF WATER OVER HIS SHOULDER FOR COMPANY AND MAKING HIS WAY ON FOOT ON HIGHWAY N10 FROM DUBAI TO KARACHI . THE TAG ON THE METALWARE WHICH READ "FOR ASIM MUNIR " WAS ALSO REPORTED TO BE CLEARLY VISIBLE .

T 20 WORLD CUP - 2024
World Cup , be it the One Day Internationals or the shorter but even more Popular T20 World Cup have a huge following the World Over and Cricket being almost a Religion in our Country , the followers of the game touch astronomical figures.
As for myself , I have been a keen follower of the game having played the game at School , College and even at my workplace , representing them at the Unit Level Matches .
For some preordained reason , India have gone on to win the Cup whenever I have followed the Final Game away from my own home .
1983 World Cup
On this particular day I was in second shift which gets over at 11. 00 pm . Self and
V Srinivasan my colleague and also a keen Cricket enthusiast , quickly finished the shift end work and rushed out to catch the Radio Commentary by The BBC . In Those days TV was still in its initial stages of installation and that too only in a few pockets of the National Capital and the Radio or Transistor Set was the only mode to stay in touch with the outside World of sports .
I was staying at K2 , opposite the Colony Club of our Staff Quarters . I had a powerful 5 Band NATIONAL , Japanese made Transistor Radio and it being almost midnight the reception was fairly good .
Not many in the present Gen will be even aware of the vagaries involved to tune into the far off Radio Stations of the BBC, VOA OR even The Radio Ceylon nearer home . Weather at the Transmitting or Receiving end play a large part in the quality of the reception , The Power and Band Width of the Transistor in your hand , Your own sitting or standing posture with God knows what and plain luck determine how well you are able to tune in to the desired Radio Station .
We made ourselves comfortable on the benches of the colony club where movies were screened every alternate weekend and followed the match with a fair amount of biscuits and snacks for company .
We had lost our first wicket with hardly 2 runs on the Board and were bundled out for a measly 183 runs . The saving grace was that Shrikanth my favourite ended up as the top scorer with 38 runs .
What followed was something out of this world . Mohinder Amarnath and Madan Lal turned the match on its head and the West Indies were shot out of a paltry 140 and we had won the match by 43 incredible runs .
