CALGARY AND TRIP BACK HOME
The 170 kms trip from Drumheller to Calgary was smooth as was the Airbnb accomodation booked . Eateries offering our Indian Food were plenty . Madras Cafe Chain for South Indian Food whose owner originally hailed from Sivakasi and Paranthewale offering North Indian Food almost next door to our place of stay was indeed a bonus .
The sunny weather outside was a big relief but the warnings of heavy snowing for the next two Days was a dampener as we had planned a visit to Banff which is reportedly one of the most Scenic and beautiful places in Canada .
CALGARY TOWER
Our plans for Calgary included a visit to the famous Murugan and Karumariamman Temples there .

The Graduation Ceremony for the final year School Students is an extremely special occasion here in Canada . Special and exquisitely crafted dresses are chosen with much care to be worn on this special occasion . This is a special feature each year around these parts .
My Granddaughter Aarna who is the 12 th Standard had this in mind even as we set out for Calgary from Regina .
Cross Iron Mills Mall and Sunridge Malls are two of the biggest Malls in Calgary . Both have exclusive showrooms which cater to the needs and demands of the large number of Girl students who pass out each year and are ready for the Graduation Ceremony . What is even more surprising is that slots have to be booked in advance to gain entry for a visit to these showrooms and try the fittings . Fixed time slots are given to make your choice , failing to do so would require a new booking of a fresh slot which could be hours later or on the next day in extreme cases .
Aarna's near 4 hour search at the Cross Iron Mills Mall did not seem to match her like or expectations .
We headed to the even bigger Sunridge Mall. The 3 hour search finally yielded positive results and the dress selected by Arya was very much to the liking of Aarna . The dress finally selected was really Gorgeous.
We the Grandparents spent the time visiting the many shops and outlets and spent time at the Boxing Ring where a competition was being conducted for the various age groups .
We had time on our hand and decided to visit the Business Downtown District of Calgary . We parked the Car in the Mall and headed to the Rundle Train Station adjacent to the Mall.
The train journey was enjoyable but the same could not be said about our short walk around the station . The whole place was filled with people in a drugged state , gazing about at nothing and passing unwanted and lousy comments .
That however was not to be ! Heavy snowing during the night and very poor visibility conditions which could only get only worse as we approached the mountains necessitated a change of plans and we decided to proceed back to Regina . We started around 10 am and were back home by 9 pm.
The Bird watching at MORSE was special . It offered exceptional viewing of shorebirds and waterfowl . The numbers were in their thousands . April and May Months saw flocks in their thousands making their way across the lake . On certain lucky days like the present one , the figures could be in excess of 50000 . We were lucky to be there on one of those days .
BANFF AND JASPER ARE EARMARKED FOR OUR NEXT VISIT AROUND THESE PARTS .
HAPPY TAMIL NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL
