IS KNOWING ANYTHING TOO MUCH GOOD OR BAD 88


The all Knowing Mr Google .

No matter the age , it is almost a common quick fix  amongst almost all of us to GOOGLE and look for remedies and symptoms to common ailments that one is affected from time to time . Our own PAATI VAITHYAM had easy and homemade remedies for most of them but our own ignorance and the fear of being labeled as old fashioned dissuaded us from making use of the same .


Just a few common ailments  come to mind .

1 ) Not able to get a good sleep  : There are a
number of solutions suggested for this .

Sleep on your Left shoulder
Sleep on your Right Shoulder
Sleep on your back with legs stretched apart
Sleep on your back with legs close together
Sleep on your tummy .
Sleep on a hard pillow .
Sleep on a soft pillow .
Sleep on the floor .
Do not eat anything 2 hours before your bedtime .
No Coffee or Tea 2 hours before your bedtime .
Keep counting from 1  to 100 and back to 1 repeatedly till you are fast asleep .
Keep repeating the name of your favourite God  .
The sum and substance of all this is that none of them seem to work and you are still tossing and turning in your bed the whole night .

2 ) Many if not all above the middle age have a pronounced paunch and find it difficult to see their toes while standing up because of the protruding tummy .
Added to this is the perennial problem of having to lose weight and keep fit .
Here again , many steps are suggested to overcome this .

Go for an early morning walk .
Go for a walk even as the cock is making its early morning first  call  .
Walk steadily at a slow pace .
Walk at a fast pace .
Walk by taking in  a deep breath and exhaling only slowly .
Walk in a straight line
Walk in a circle
Walk with bare feet
Walk with bare feet  in the formation of " 8 "
Walk with bare feet  with pebbles strewn in the path of the formation " 8 " .

I have tried all these in whole or in part for the last 5 years or so and the only consolation is that I have not gained weight any further which has almost stood around the 68  KGS mark .
I can of course see the nails on my toes without having to stoop at the shoulders  and that I suppose is a big achievement in itself .
The pointer on the weighing balance for some unknown reason refuses to budge below the 68 KGS mark .

A lot of us have a problem of sugar in our  blood .
The steps suggested are far too many and varied .
The things to do and the things to avoid are just far too many and would require a TON of paper to elaborate on  the same .

The falling and decaying tooth also have many remedies suggested by friends and family and Mr Google .
Use only  rounded bristle tooth brushes .
Always use the Medium variety and not the Hard or Soft brushes .
Use a Toothpaste with Salt in it  .
Use a Toothpaste with Charcoal in it .
Use the now almost forgotten Gopal Pal Podi .
If nothing works , our good old Neem Stalk used as a brush could do the miracle .

So all in all , please do consult your Family Doctor for the best method suited to you among the ones suggested to you  by the many known and unknown well wishers which also include the Print , Visual Media and our good friend  , the all knowing and ever helpful Mr/Dr  Google .
