The colour of the leaves with the winter approaching is simply amazing
Different Coloured Leaves Everywhere
The French were the first settlers in Canada and the Natives introduced the place as KANATA which over the years came to be known as CANADA .
It is entwined in the path of two rivers Ottawa and the Rideau river. The Rideau river makes a magnificent waterfall like drop and merges with the much larger Ottawa river .
All this is right in front of the Canadian Prime Minister s Residence . There are no fancy or elaborate security decoy of any kind and The Machine Gun wielding Police are conspicuous by their absence .
The conducted tour of the Governor General of Canada s Palace is very informative . The Titular Head of Canada is still Queen Elizabeth 2 of England and the GG of Canada is Her Representative . Till 1952 it still had an Englishman in that post . It is now a prominent Canadian Citizen who occupies the seat .
The provinces of Ontario and Quebec form on either side of the Ottawa River . The Ontario side is English and the Quebec side is French .
This is a very Beutiful place to visit with many historical connections .
The well maintained roads , parks and Garden with the leaves in many different colours are most soothing to the eye .
Here i am , a Retired Person nearing the three quarters of the Century Mark , musing about the many childhood dreams . There are many things which have caught my fancy as a schoolgoing kid and later on in the teens. It is only fair to say that Some of those Important Dreams , thanks to the lord above have been realized and and sadly there are parts of the same that are never going to see the light of the day . The early part of my teens was at a place called Kharapur in W Bengal .Now, dont get me wrong , it was not at the IIT for which the place is obviously more famous for the World over , but the Railway Colony of which my Father was very much a part. I did my schooling at the Railway Mixed Higher Secondary School there. My fathers previous posting among a lot many other places was at a place called Chakradharpur in Bihar and my early schooling was entirely in the Hindi Medium. The school at Kharagpur though had a sizable Anglo Ind...
A GOLU WHICH IS NO LESS THAN A DIVINE ART EXHIBITION We were at Ajax in Canada on Sunday the 28 th of September 2025 . It was a special day for two reasons . I have always been a Cricket Buff and try to watch all India related matches wherever and in whichever time zone they are played in . It was the day of the much touted Title Clash and the Finals Of THE ASIA CUP CRICKET MATCH between India and Pakistan which was being played at The Dubai International Stadium . The Match was Scheduled to start at 10.30 am Toronto Local time . There was plenty of On Field and Off Field drama and acrimony by the Pakis during their previous two league stage Matches which were won by India handsomely and by a huge margin at that . Both were labelled as one sided encounters by the Pundi...
