           THE SICKULAR ( SECULAR )     

                      NEWSPAPER 



 
Certain Newspapers are the self proclaimed  SICKULAR read Secular custodians and 
 values of everything enshrined in the Indian Constitution . 
The festival of ID - UL - AZHA was on the 1 st of August 2020 , and the KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI ON THE 11 th of August this year . 
I have no problem with  the Newspaper wishing my brothers of the other faith on an auspicious day , I too wish them very  well .

Their stated secular stand goes for a toss when on the KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI day which was  just yesterday the 11 th of August 2020 was not only given a miss but totally ignored .  This day is sacred to almost 70% of the Indian Population .The SICKULAR  (secular)
Newspaper has chosen to ignore the event I suspect at the behest of its masters  .
Front Page of the Newspaper on both these days goes to highlight my point . 

THE NEWSPAPER MAY DO WELL.TO CHANGE ITS NAME SUITABLY

      The unfortunate part is that no other English Language newspaper is available . The reason i am given to understand is that this is the only English Newspaper that pays back for unsold copies .
      My Tamil is all but elementary. So i hardly have any other choice , except to go for the e paper and i am not very comfortable with that either .

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
