          TAMBARABARANI IN SPATE 

The continous and steady rainfall during the current monsoon seasons  in the catchment areas of all major dams in Tirunelveli District had left all the Dams full or almost full . Papanasam and Manimuthar Dams the biggest Dams in the District were letting out almost 2000 Cusecs of water for almost the last 15 days .

Heavy and continuous rainfall over the last four days in and around Ambasamudram and the Pothigai Hills has flooded the entire area so much so that 40000 Cusecs of water are being let out from the dams .

Manimuthar the biggest dam with a capacity of nearly 5500 Million Cubic Feet has all its 7 Gates opened . 

Though all precautions need to be taken immidiately to avoid damages of any sort, it is surely good news for the Drinking and Agricultural requirements of Tirunelveli and all the neighboring Districts which are largely dependent on these two Dams for all their needs .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
