         STRANGE BUT TRUE 



People born in this millennium might find the words AGNI NAKSHATRAM OR KATRI VEYIL rather new . For the uninformed , it refers to a period when the summer is at its peak .

May 4 th to May 28 th is the period mentioned this year in the Tamizh Calender. 

 Even in a place like Ambai the afternoon temperatures hover around the 42 Degree plus mark . The humid and sultry afternoons and the  hot nights are clearly the most uncomfortable periods  in the year weatherwise  .

Strangely , this year unlike the  earlier years have not been as bad weatherwise . Though a bit hot , it has not been totally uncomfortable .

The last 3 or 4 days have been even more strange . There has been a slight daily drizzle and yesterday's night temperature was hovering  around the  20 Degrees mark . The AC on during the afternnon and the KEEP COOL / WATER PROOFING PAINT on the terrace brought about a further reduction in the room temperature  . Strange as it may sound , blankets had to be pulled out from the shelf to keep us warm .

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . The Krishna Temple ; Palace of Gold ; Rose Garden ; Goshala ; Peacock Mount is very Scenic ; People from all over the World Visit this place in large numbers and stay here for a few days for enchantment and to be with  MOTHER NATURE at its very Best .  The travel time involved was just 60 Minutes of Extra Time from our place of stay but the last 20 Minutes of travel involved coveri...

NAVARATHRI GOLU 2025 - AJAX - 795

                    NAVARATHRI 2025   --  AJAX  We are at my Son and Daughter In Law’s place at Ajax in Canada this year for the Navarathri Festival . It is  a festival which has the Ladies garnering all the limelight during the Nine Day Festival with THE GOLU as the highlight . The men in the house have to get down the Cartons from the attic with the neatly packed idols of last year stored there with utmost care . Cleaning and dusting the same takes some doing . Getting the 5 or 7 Deck GOLU PADI is a big task in itself . Haarish , my son is good with his hands which includes the Carpentry work also .
