STOCK TAKING OF A VERY
HOME OF THE OWNER OF THE FAMOUS AUDITORS
A VISIT TO THE KITCHEN OF THE FAMOUS HOUSE OF
SHYAMAPRASAD
BROTHERS
More than a year of Lockdowns and Stay/Work from Home have brought to light the following observations in the House and particularly the Kitchen of Shyamaprasad , the Head of The Renowned Auditing Firm Of
SHYAMAPRASAD BROTHERS
By their Home Office Rookie Trainees .
Following anomalies were observed in the functioning of their day to day activities.
1. There was no Stock Ledger being maintained at any place . Procurement was not in line with the provision , requirement and consumption patterns over a period of time . Purchase Orders were being placed verbally and Inventory Maintenance was very poor and was bordering almost very close to NIL .
2. There was no proof of any budgeting documents.
3. Indexing of products left a lot to be desired .
4. No bin cards were displayed at any of the crucial storage locations .
2. There was no proof of any budgeting documents.
3. Indexing of products left a lot to be desired .
4. No bin cards were displayed at any of the crucial storage locations .
5. Sadly there was no record of any Annual, Monthly or Quarterly stock taking being carried out .
6. No Inspection had been carried out for years . The stock on hand had far outlived their usage and were in varying degree of decay . Most of the spoons and plates were of the wrong pattern and did not match with each other or the original part number.
7. No procedure for Inventory valuation was available .
8. Weighing scales were not being used to check the veracity of the products and the quantity being recieved .
9. No Handing over /Taking over files were maintained.
10. No SOP and the Daily Menu are displayed anywhere in the various production lines , be it the Oven , Hotplate , MIXIE or even the grinder . It has come to light that RICE has been the principal item of Daily use . This despite the fact that Mr Shyamaprasad was himself a Diabetic and much Overweight .
11. No Fire fighting equipment of any sort, not even sand was found and the safety norms given a total miss .
12. Sufficient reserves were not being maintained for any Emergencies like the Covid Lockdown or any other looming pandemic .
13. Annual balance sheet and other financial statements were not prepared since the inception of the firm's Kitchen .
14. Lot of unaccounted cash was found in many of the boxes and utensils in the kitchen . The find of many demonitized currency notes in the jar containing the KOZHAMBU PODI or Chilly Powder did come as a big surprise . The sheer volume of the unaccounted money could pose a serious problem if the enforcement authorities do come to know of the same .
15. It has also come to notice that many items are lent / borrowed to and from the neighborhood families ; but no records of any sort are being maintained of these transactions . Periodical balance confirmations are not made available for any inspection .
15 . Many items in the medical chest are well past their expiry dates .
16 . FACE MASKS , HAND WASH AND SANITIZER are not properly placed and there is difficulty in locating them .
17 , Shelf Life items have gone for a big toss as even a cursory glance of the Fridge would indicate . Some items bought during the first wave of the present Pandemic are still stored in the Fridge as are the very many Chocolates which the SHYAMAPRASAD S had brought during their last visit to their Son and Daughter Place in Canada , It is almost close to Two years now since they alighted at the Madurai Airport .
THE SHAYAMALA AND SHAYAMAPRASAD COUPLE THOUGH HAVING MANY THINGS IN COMMON IN THEIR NAMES , DO NOT SEEM TO BE HAVING MANY THINGS IN COMMON IN THEIR HOME RUNNING CAPABILITIES.
