 You own NOTHING in this                       WORLD 

The oft repeated statement that you own NOTHING in this WORLD , has never been more true than now . You came in to the world  empty handed when you were born and so shall you return when your turn finally comes .

The naming ceremony in Indian Households is a very GRAND and Elaborate  function . Elders of the family , Josier , Saastrigal are consulted before they  gather and select an appropriate name after considering the various options .Yours truely ended up being named as :

Ravanasamudram Hariharan Ganesh Iyer , 

Over time , due to the long name being very inconvenient  and being frowned upon  while filling up the admission forms while seeking admission in School etc  and that too in North India , the  Ravanasamudram part  first  and the Iyer part of the name later  were summarily dropped  . The reasons for dropping Iyer is   pretty obvious and needs  no explanation especially in our part of the world .

Now comes the interesting part ,  the SH in GANESH appears to be Sanskritized and  more  Devanaagari . and my name now appears as H.GANESAN in my Driving Licence , it will not be long before the initial H and G , the first letter in my name which obviously  do not belong to our land will find itself being changed as per the fancy of the ruling masters and in all likelihood end up as 

அரிகரன் கணேசன் 

This in English would be 

ARIKARAN KANESAN 

As I had said in my opening passage , you came with nothing in this world and so shall you return with YOU  not  even owning your name which your parents so lovingly gave you and which you carried all your life .
