 DAY 1,TORONTO TO AMBAS VISIT

The much awaited but meticulously planned visit of Kala to places down South was just underway .

She was to arrive by the Delhi to Chennai and then to Tuticorin Flight by the IndiGo 6E-7578  with the scheduled arrival time at Tuticorin being  3.30 pm on 23 rd Nov 2022 .

Self and my  better half had planned to meet her at the Tuticorin Airport by hiring the Selvam Travels Cab and then proceed to Sankarankovil which was  my niece's  Kula Deiva Kovil and was the first on her priority of places to visit while in  India .

The flight arrived at Tuticorin  , dot on the scheduled arrival time of 3.30 pm and my niece was out of the arrival gate in no time and we were on our way to Sankarankovil by 3.45 pm .

A lot of comments are being raised on the delay in the laying of the 4 way road between Tirunelveli and Papanasam . I must admit that I too subscribe and condemn the inordinate delay in completing the project , but it's long term impact and the benefits that this is going to bring is to be experienced to be actually  believed . 

The distance between Tuticorin Airport to Tirunelveli and then to Sankarankovil is 90 kms . Except for a small stretch of 10 kms  of bad roads  within the Tirunelveli City Limits , the remaining stretch is extremely well paved so much so that we were at Sankarankovil at 5.45 pm itself which is just 2hours from our departure at Tuticorin Airport  and this incidentally   included a coffee break at Tirunelveli .

The Darshan both  at the hallowed Sankaralingaswamy shrine and Gomathi Amman shrine went of really well . The crowd being very limited we could spend more time in front of the deities . Thanks to Kala for making this possible . We were back home in Agasthiarpatty at 9.30 pm after our dinner at Ramanas in Ambasamudram where the sambar served in buckets was the highlight especially for Kala . This was very much unlike Toronto where an extra small cup of Sambar  had  to be paid in Dollars. 

The DAY TWO of the trip promised to be even more enchanting as more places needed to be covered with the added excitement of my Nephew Kumar and his wife Aparna joining us in the morning . They had chosen to travel by bus from Bangalore and join us in our travels .

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . NAVARATHRI GOLU 2025 - AJAX - 795

                    NAVARATHRI 2025   --  AJAX  We are at my Son and Daughter In Law’s place at Ajax in Canada this year for the Navarathri Festival . It is  a festival which has the Ladies garnering all the limelight during the Nine Day Festival with THE GOLU as the highlight . The men in the house have to get down the Cartons from the attic with the neatly packed idols of last year stored there with utmost care . Cleaning and dusting the same takes some doing . Getting the 5 or 7 Deck GOLU PADI is a big task in itself . Haarish , my son is good with his hands which includes the Carpentry work also .
