OUR SECOND VISIT TO THE US -1

The opportunity to Visit the US during our current stay at Canada  came as a pleasant Surprise . We were at Toronto in Canada and had an Invite for a family function at Marlton in New Jersey of the USA . They were a relation of sorts and Extremely close to my Son and DIL during their stay in England .

 Our Valid US Visa on hand and the added attraction of a chance to Visit  NEW YORK made it all the more attractive .  This  would then go on to complete my ambition of visiting all the Four  Prime Places of Tourist Attraction on the International Circuit of   LONDON, PARIS , LOS ANGELES  and now NEW YORK  . I have already covered my visits to London , Paris and Los Angeles in my Earlier Blogs in detail .

INSIDE THE DUTY FREE SHOP 

The distance from Ajax to Marlton is 860 Kms and  passes through the states of New York , Pennsylvania and New Jersey . Self , Mami , Son , DIL with our Grandchildren Adhvay and Akshatha planned and decided to leave Ajax around 2 PM and Spend the Night at Rochester in the US . We had booked the accommodation through the Airbnb App . The Eight Seater Honda Odyssey with the middle seat in the Second row removed provided for comfortable space with ample leg room  for all of us and our luggage .


This being an Extra Long Weekend with  Sept 4 th being the Labour Day , we feared a massive surge in Tourist Footfalls .

The distance from Ajax to the US Border Post at Queenston -Lewiston  is 175 Kms and it took  just 2 Hours to reach there from Ajax .

Being Canadian Citizens , My Son and Family had no problems in Crossing the Border . Even our Clearence was relatively easy as compared to many who seemed to have issues . We got our Clearence after the Mandatory Check of the Passports and the Bio-Metric Details  .

We were on our way to Rochester from the Border Post and reached there at 6.30 pm . The first thing one is bound to notice on the Roads on the other side of the border  is that they still follow the MILE , MILES PER HOUR for Measurement of Distance and Speed . 

Our choice of Rochester was for visiting the VIDYA TEMPLE OF SRI RAJARAJESWARI PEETAM .

This place is visited by a huge number of people who seek the Devine Blessings for  THE  VIDHYAA AARAMBHAM of their offsprings .

The Place and the Idols are very neatly placed and the feeling one gets is  Electric and Devine .

31 St August being a Thursday , the Satya Sai Bhajan conducted was even more of a surprise .

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . The Krishna Temple ; Palace of Gold ; Rose Garden ; Goshala ; Peacock Mount is very Scenic ; People from all over the World Visit this place in large numbers and stay here for a few days for enchantment and to be with  MOTHER NATURE at its very Best .  The travel time involved was just 60 Minutes of Extra Time from our place of stay but the last 20 Minutes of travel involved coveri...

NAVARATHRI GOLU 2025 - AJAX - 795

                    NAVARATHRI 2025   --  AJAX  We are at my Son and Daughter In Law’s place at Ajax in Canada this year for the Navarathri Festival . It is  a festival which has the Ladies garnering all the limelight during the Nine Day Festival with THE GOLU as the highlight . The men in the house have to get down the Cartons from the attic with the neatly packed idols of last year stored there with utmost care . Cleaning and dusting the same takes some doing . Getting the 5 or 7 Deck GOLU PADI is a big task in itself . Haarish , my son is good with his hands which includes the Carpentry work also . He has designed a FIVE DECK WOODEN GOLU PADI which can be assembled and dismantled in a very short time .  Masterminding the placement of the Various idols in formations of ASHTALAKSHMI , RAMAYANAM , GAJENDRA MOKSHAM , DASA AVATHAARAMS , CHETTIAR KADAI WITH THEIR GROCERY ITEMS , PAST AND PRESENT LEADERS ASSEMBL...
